We moved to North Liberty 2 years ago, and kept our vet in IC for all that time. Never felt a strong connection with them, but they were a known quantity and they were acceptable.
Last night out dog was obviously not feeling well. Whining all night long. Every time we let her out, she'd sniff around disinterested and come back in. By 8:00AM, none of us had slept a wink and I said, ""Let's take her to the vet.""
I made a call to our IC vet...the ""known quantity""...only to be told that they wouldn't see her today. They had office hours, but apparently no room in their schedule.
So, we looked locally and read the good reviews elsewhere for Dr. Shannon at the North Liberty Pet Clinic. My wife made a phone call and was told we could come in within the hour.
The exam was thorough, the doctor was awesome: obviously full of compassion for the critters under her care. Even though we weren't regulars of hers, she acted like we were her top priorities and took way more time during the exam than I ever experienced with our IC regulars.
We left the clinic with a new vet for our dog, a few prescriptions (turns out the likely culprit is back pain) and the assurance that our four-legged family member is now in the care of someone who cares about her almost as much as we do.
Would def. recommend.
