The way I feel about Shadow Mountain Auto reckons back to small town America, when you could trust your neighbor, and your mechanic (or plumber, butcher, mailman) was also a friend! more

If you care at all about your vehicle, customer service, and honesty, then this is a shop worth going to. I'm the owner of a 1982 Ford mustang and I've been in and out of more repair shops than I care to recall. My car is 30 years old, so needless to say it's always in need of some repair or another. After finally getting fed up w/ lousy shops, I decided to do some research on which repair facilities were getting good reviews. I gave this place a call, and after talking to Kurt and the rest of the crew over the phone, instantly I knew I had found a great shop. Their customer service is beyond good, and they were extremely fast in repairing my car and getting it back to me (and great @ keeping in touch w/ me throughout the whole process). Admittedly my Mustang is not the prettiest car in the world, but they sure made me feel as though I drove up in a Ferrari. They treated my car w/ a great deal of care and attention. I can honestly say that I have no intentions of taking my vehicles anywhere else besides this shop from now on. I'm so relieved to have finally found an honest place and such a great group of people. My car runs as good now as it ever has, and I cannot express my gratitude enough. They even gave me a ride home afterhours one night when I was ony my way to catch the bus after dropping off my car. They had long since closed, but still offered to bring me home. more

I took my car to Kurt from a recommendation. My check engine light was on. Knowing nothing about my car, I was left to his assessment of what was wrong. It was my GAS CAP not being on tight for heavens sake! I had to perform an oil change and he even gave me a discount on the oil change as they had been running a special I was unaware of that had ended the day before. He proceeded to let me know the upcoming issues to my car, I am sole ovwer of a 2003 Subura and have had not repairs to my car since I bought it then. He told me what things would be smart to do in 6 months what things were a bit of an issue but he thought need not be done. He educated me and took the time to explain the whys. more

I kind of stumbled in to this auto shop about a year ago, and am so thankful I did. My last auto shop was good, but they were too far away. Shadow Mountain auto is better than good. My wife and I have 2 cars which have experienced a variety of problems. Every time, Rip, who you'll likely talk to when you call or drop in, listens to and/or explains the problem like he's your older brother. Numerous times I've heard him say "You'll probably need to replace it eventually, but you can wait a while and hold on to your money without hurting the car." As most auto places I've taken our cars to pressure you to immediately fix every insignificant little sign of wear, it's refreshing in the extreme. When they do fix things, they do it right, always following with "If you do experience any other problems with that, bring it in and we'll take care of it." I recommend them to absolutely everyone I can, because I don't believe any shop could be run better. more

I just had some simple work done(a front break pad replacement and an oil and filter change). Both my grown children as well as a friend of my daughters have had more extensive or major work done and, like me, agree that the service was great. The work was done on time and done properly at the agreed price. No extra or unnecessary work was done or suggested. more

They took 2 days from when they started to work on it burned over half a tank of gas making sure it worked and it didn't. Well it does run after you start it but the longer it sits the longer it takes to start as the fuel system no longer holds pressure. So once you start it, it will restart instantly but the longer it sits the longer it takes to start. Leave it over night and needs 20 seconds to fireup. Nice job guys. No I won't be back. Pros: put in a pump I guess Cons: doesn't work very well more

Where do I begin. My husband and I met Kurt only about 18 months ago. We have had Kurt and his shop Shadow Mountain Auto take care of our cars (4 of them) each with their own set of issues. Each time, after only a short hour, Kurt would give a full report of what was wrong and give a quote that was always what he said it would be at the end, and if he found something more during that process, he ended up fixing that extra thing with no charge. He goes way beyond the norm too. An example was when I called him from out of town to ask him to go to my house when the neighbors called me to say my car alarm kept going off in the middle of the night. He made sure it was taken care of and once I returned looked at the issue and took care of it for free. He finds the best prices for your parts, and takes the time, each time, to make you feel you are the only one with a car there. He is quick to respond, quick to fix the problems, and you are back on your way with confidence you "haven't been taken to the cleaners". You are never a number, but a person. He has told me more often than not that 'oh, no charge' on that. I have never trusted an auto shop before this one. Once you go in and try SMAS, you too will be a believer.
