The most amazing Spa!! 9/15/2010

I try to be calm when I talk about SenSpa. It was an amazing spa experience!! I was given a gift card by a friend for my birthday and chose the SenSpa Muscle Refresher, I was so impressed I booked another for myself in two weeks!! This spa is beautiful, the staff friendly and extremely knowledgeable about their service and products. I would HIGHLY recommend their service to anyone!!! more

Best Waxing Ever 8/13/2008

I was referred to SenSpa by 2 friends for their discreet, professional brazilian wax. My first experience (not at SenSpa)was to say the least excruciating!! So much so that I never wanted to get another one, but my friends urged me to give it one more go and try Senspa. So I made an appt. to see Mary. She was outstanding! She made me feel so comfortable about a service that can be somewhat embarrassing and sometimes painful. What I didn't know was that the wax that is used has a lot to do with pain, redness and soreness in general. SenSpa uses hard wax. Mary is an expert and does a thorough and professional job. Pros: Parking, Staff, Cleanliness Cons: none more

halleluja, the eagle has landed, facial wonderland 1/14/2008

I just moved here from NYC where I had who I thought was the best esthetician ever...well, ""the eagle has landed!!!"" and I have just found THE BEST, MOST AMAZING facials ever. The first time I went I had a facial with Camille. She is articulate and knowledgeable and knows how to massage my sad, withered face back into tip-top shape. She recommended a slew of supplements, which I am now happily taking (because I FEEL and SEE results!!!) and some excellent products (women, if you haven't used SkinCeuticals you must). The next time I went I couldn't get in with Camille so I went to Grace. Well, I have to say, JUST AS GREAT. Soft spoken but intelligent and sweet, what more could you want? She buffed my aging skin to that of a kindergartener. Excellent. I almost feel like trying everyone at SenSpa but I think for now I'll stick with these two. Try the Freestyle Facial. I had it both times and it was so thorough yet completely different both times-it's really cool and long!!! Pros: yummy snacks, cushy robes and blankets, comfy plush beds Cons: nada more

Unbelieveably disappointed! 10/30/2007

One of the worst experiences I have had at a spa. The front desk was RUDE beyond anything I have experienced. It was as if I was doing them a favor. The facial was so disappointing. It felt like the esthetician was just going through the motions. She did not give me a good explanation of the treatment, did not do thorough cleansing and when I went to check out and saw the bill I was floored. Sen Spa is so overpriced it is ridiculous. The military barracks should have been left for the military. I will never go back.. Do not be fooled by any of the hype. Pros: parking Cons: atmosphere was sterile, staff rude, SOOO overpriced, horrible more

The best resort getaway in the city! 6/1/2007

I love this place. It's chic. The services are top notch. And the staff is really focused on delivering great service. I felt like I was at a five-star resort. Just as important, the super hydrating facial that I got was one of the best I've ever had. My skin was glowing for weeks. I'm a spa goer, have been to other day spas in town and nothing comes close. Pros: Best resort getaway in San Francisco Cons: None! more

Will NEVER go back 5/9/2007

Been there 10-12 times. Good customer--referred friends, tipped, bought products. more

Awesome Massage - You have to go ! 5/8/2007

Awesome massages - I think these guys are the ""Stressbusters"" !! Pros: Ambience, happy staff, parking, open till 9pm during the week, comfortable massage tables, organic products & snacks, front desk open on Mondays so you can buy gift certificates or make appointments Cons: Spa closed on Mondays, could be hard for some to find, SenSpa website directions are the best to use more

First impression terrible - inflexible and snotty receptionist 3/14/2007

Okay, to be fair, I didn't actually go to the spa, but I wanted to. The receptionist I spoke with was snotty. I am arranging a small party for a good friend and three others so inquired about reservations for five people -- completely flexible on the mix of services we received. She said they ""don't do group reservations on weekends because they cannot fit in their regular clients."" I said we were a small group willing to spread our services over 3 hours, and she said, ""I'm sorry, now that I know you're a group, I cannot make five reservations for you. You'll have to call back separately."" It would have been palatable if she hadn't been so snotty in delivering this message. I then asked for my own personal manicure, and she said (snotty again) ""We don't do pedicures and manicures."" Overall, a pretty bad first impression. I don't think I'll go there or recommend it. We'll give our business elsewhere. Pros: Looks like a nice place Cons: Not the nicest person on the phone - inflexible more

run here for a facial 3/1/2007

Run to SenSpa for the facial they do with the hydrating tip thingee. I think it's called the Super Hydrating Facial. i've never had anything like it in my life. I mean it. Your skin will look better than it has ever looked. I'm not kidding. My mother even told me so. Pros: gorgeous interior, good snacks, awesome fireplace more

Great Massage Changed My Life 2/22/2007

Recently, I had a wonderful massage at SenSpa. The practitioner was professional and helpful. She educated me about stress relief during the first part of the massage, but then stopped talking and just let me relax. The snacks are organic. The showers are incredible. The environment is peaceful. This is on my list of places to visit again soon. I left there feeling like I'd been totally renewed, and carrying tools to stave off the stresses of life on a daily basis. Pros: great staff, clean & relaxing, organic snacks Cons: expensive more

Do not go there 12/19/2006

my expierience was less that averege. My massage was amature and okward...I wanted to jump up and leave. parts of it even hurt. I know this place is new, but there are plenty of more professional choices if you want a truely legit massage. When I brought up my issue to a ""manager"" she dismissed my issues and acted like I was a nobody. I don't even think the so-called manager was who she said she really stated. Pros: easy to get into (red flag) Cons: parking more

THE BEST 8/29/2006

I have tried so many spas in SF and the East Bay during my past year of living here--SenSpa is the most recent I have tried--and the best! Great customer service, great treatments, and very beautiful setting. This place is how I would make a spa! PERFECT! Pros: everything more

A spa that befits our great city 8/4/2006

SenSpa is a wonderful addition to The City! Located in the Presidio, you would never know what exactly to expect on your first visit. I was certainly pleasantly surprised. Recently, I spent an afternoon of treatment there and was impressed with SenSpa's design, but especially their attentive service. I've sent several dear friends over and we all agree, we'll keep going back! Pros: Service, design more

The Birthday of A Lifetime 8/2/2006

For my 16th birthday I was treated to a hydrating facial (performed by Camille). I entered the spa with very high expectations ( seeing how I had several family members ranting and raving) all of which were met. Senspa is home to an amazing and friendly staff, a clean, warm atmosphere, and let me tell you, those sheets are AMAZING. To the creative genius that went into the creation of this spa(cough...RANDY SCHRECK...) : Pros: The warm, sensual atmosphere, kind Cons: none really... more

Best Spa in San Francisco 8/1/2006

Senspa is the urban oasis that San Francisco has always lacked! I had two treatments there and was in heaven...from the gorgeous and zen decor to the absolute professionalism of the staff to treatments that are sublime! I highly recommend Senspa to anyone who wants to treat themselves to something very special. more

Beautiful Space, Excellent Service, Fantastic Treatments 8/1/2006

My partner and I went to Senspa for the first time and were both blown away. I had seen their ads in various magazines, so had an idea of what the place would look like, but the pictures don't do them justice. They did an amazing job on the decor....kind of a Zen meets DWR. The staff were all extremely friendly and went out of their way to make you feel very comfortable. We had 3 treatments each (detox foot soak, super hydrating facial and a massage)...we both were extremely happy with each treatment and would highly recommend the splurge and spending a good part of your Saturday at Senspa. The facilities are great...locker rooms/showers ext...all very nice and the warming room was perfect for relaxing in between treatments. We've had a few friends go as well and everyone has come back with rave reviews. The location in the Presidio really makes it a special experience, easy parking and overall one of the best spas I've been to in SF. It's always nice to check out a new place, but I think it would be really hard to not go back to Senspa for my next massage. You guys are doing a great job.....congrats. Pros: Great space, attentive service, the Presidio more

LOVE THE PLACE BEST SPA IN SF 8/1/2006

This is by far the best spa in SF. I am even doing their Senpath and I feel a change in my life and body. Master Wang (body health), Venetia (aromtherapist master and great massages), Sanja (loving wellness coach), and Leah (best facials and brazilians!!) are wonderful. I highly recommend this place to anyone- the casual spa goer, the luxurious prima donna, the person that needs a life change. The tea is yummy, steam room is brand new and not mildewed like most spas. I miss the raw vegan banana leaf treats, but they serve dried fruit snacks and dark chocolate. Great products for you face and body. They really care! Pros: wonderful staff, nice locker room and chill out room, great products Cons: the little flies that are in love with the tropical plants, a little pricey more

SenSpa transforms a hard day into a day of relaxation! 7/31/2006

SenSpa transforms a hard day into a day of relaxation. Even if you go for an individual treatment there are plenty of choices. The services I received were provided in a professional manner by enthusiastic and competent astheticians. The massage was one of the best I've had. I would recommend SenSpa and it's wonderful location for a treatment or for a day awat from the hectic world. Their attention to detail and customer service is some of the best I've experienced. Next time I will try the Cool as Cucumber facial. It looked great and my friend had it and said it was wonderful. more

Now the Best Spa in the Bay Area 7/31/2006

Really, really great. A haul to get to (the Presidio), but once you get there, the surrounding is beautiful, the parking plentiful (and free), and the inside will blo* you away. The attention to detail really puts you in a different world. It isn't a Gym (no pool or group hot tub) and it isn't a chain (with overstuffed sofas in some cattle call seating area), and it isn't some overcrowded compact boutique where the waiting area is also a hallway and a product display area. I could wait all day in their waiting area (can I bring my lbvaptop next time?? hmmm.). Pros: Feels great. The best atmosphere in the Bay Area Cons: Hard to get to. Not cheap. more

Great SF escape! 7/31/2006

I couldn't wait for SenSpa to open. There are a couple of other stand by spas that I have frequented here in SF through the years - that I do like, but couldn't wait for an option to avoid the parking (& the tickets) in the neigborhoods. Pros: ambience, parking more
