After passing by this place several times I decided to stop in one day. The first time I went the food was quite good. Everything had the right amount of seasoning, sauce, and the food wasn't too dried out considering that it's a buffet. I was surprised that the place was as slow as it was though. It was 7pm and there were only a few people in the place. Two weeks later though it was considerably worse. All the food was dried up, the soups were greasy, and the spring rolls slid out of your hand. Everything was either overcooked, or undercooked. To make matters worse there were fragments of bones in most of the dishes. It appeared that the chef didn't bother to take out the bones, but just chopped up everything, cooked it, and tossed it in the sauce. To make matters worse the manager said that it was standard in Chinese Food to have bones in it. Also when I took a few crab legs I found that I was charged extra money that wasn't posted anywhere. Now the 10 years that I've lived in Orlando I've seen the name of this place change so many times. First it was Big Apple Buffet, then Semoran Buffet, then Beijing 2008 Buffet, and now I got an ad for Remme Grill & Buffet. I'm thinking that it's owned by the same people and that they keep changing their name because it gets many bad reviews, change name, and then it's busy again. Pros: not bad service Cons: hidden crab leg surcharge more

Maybe the worst food Ive EVER eaten... 3/8/2009

First off.... I have to give this place one star just to fill this out..and I truly believe that one star is several too many......Im a former chef...so I try not to entertain thoughts of great food everywhere I go..I just try to find decent food...... However, today, my girlfriend and I happened upon this restaurant "Beijing 2008".... It was without a doubt the worst "chinese" food Ive ever eaten..and most definitely one of the worst restaurants I have ever experienced. Unlike the other review..I found the "spread" to be lacking(at best)... the soups(and I tried all four)...were disgusting and reeking of dirty dishwater... the fried dumplings were greasy and obviously boiled after the fact... the General Tsos chicken as well as the Sesame chicken were raw inside and not anything remotely approaching fried..... I left more food in my napkin than I actually consumed...and to be honest I did try almost everything.... with the exception of the Sushi...which was under a heat lamp...and had been sitting for hours.. After trying to find something to consume (the lo mein noodles were both mushy and crunchy at the same time).... I had to laugh my way across the salad bar which was just downright disgusting.. I could continue in great detail how awful it was..but I will leave you with what I left with.. A bathroom that had urine puddles on the floor and had no hand soap.. A cook that was biting his nails in a corner of the dining room,,wearing flip flops and a sleeveless shirt.. And finally..a smell of the county fair...Which should have been my big warning when I walked in the door... Do yourself a favor and avoid this restaurant like the plague(or you might catch it)... I never wish bad luck upon decent restaurants..But this place needs to close immediately.. I cant even rate it.... Pros: There is a very nice Colombian restaurant in the shopping center.. Cons: The whole experience more

Surprisingly good chinese buffet - good spread, mostly fresh food 9/8/2008

This place was so dead when we visited it tonight that I felt compelled to write a review out of pity. This place definitely deserves more business. Maybe the obscure location (it's in a gigantic plaza with the most absurd signing I've ever seen) or the fact that it's not really called Semoran Buffet (it's called Beijing 2008 Buffet) is killing it. Nevertheless, it had a really good spread with some dishes I hadn't seen before, and tasty favorites like General Tso's, Chicken and Broccoli, etc. The california rolls were the best I've ever seen/tasted at a buffet, even though they didn't hold together very well. All the chicken dishes were very tender, veggies very fresh, and the fried rice was pretty good. We were also pleasantly surprised by the Chef's Special. Stay away from the lo mein though - it tasted like plastic. Also, beware of the 4 dollar surcharge for crab legs. We didn't see the sign when we walked in and my boyfriend got them, and they were SO not worth it - old tasting and overcooked. All in all, if it weren't for the disappointing crab legs and lo mein, this place would be at the top of our Chinese buffet list. Pros: A good spread with a majority of tasty dishes; clean with good service Cons: Sneaky crab leg surcharge, horrible lo mein, and weird ambience due to emptiness of restaurant more
