My wife and I first went here on Valentine's Day. She enjoyed it enough that we returned for her birthday. Great location if you're going either to The Daily Show with Jon Stewa...

Greedy for Money 1/1/2010

I will never eat here again. I have never been so insulted in a restaurant. When dining out, I usually charge my meal and include the tip on the charge receipt. This is the first time that after handing over the signed slip, the waiter came back to me and said the tip was not enough. They asked for $3 more and said I could pay it in cash. Pros: Food is Good Cons: Not Satisfied with Tips more

Very affordable and good Thai food 10/21/2008

This place looks like a really nice restaurant, which it is, but it is quite affordable. I enjoyed the lemongrass chicken. more

I got sick from the food here on my Birthday 4/1/2008

I went with my mother on MArch 31, 2008 and she ordered the garlic chicken, which was very tasty. I ordered the Peanut Chicken, which seemed to be a popular dish on their menu. When the food came, very promptly I might add, I liked my mother's dish better than mine. It have more flavor. My peanut chicken came with 2 peices of chicken breast and was smothered in sauce and sprinkled with chopped peanuts. My food was okay. I wasn't really impressed and I thought it lacked flavor but I ate it anyway. We had dinner at about 6:20pm. My body regected half of the food starting at 10pm and continued through out the night and into the morning ending around 7am. I would NOT recommend this restaurant. Even though my mother was NOT sick, I WAS and it could happen to you. Stay away!!! Pros: Quick Service Cons: If the foods gonna make you sick does it matter how fast they give it to you? more

Very, very good 7/22/2007

My wife and I first went here on Valentine's Day. She enjoyed it enough that we returned for her birthday. Great location if you're going either to The Daily Show with Jon Stewart or The Colbert Report. Delicious food, nice atmosphere. Pros: great atmosphere--formerly one of JonJon Kennedy's favorite places more

Very Average 5/3/2007

Went to this place based on reviews here and other similar web site, I am not sure what people are raving about. Food is just ok with very small portions, so if you a big guy like my husband concider getting extra appetizers as your entree will not be big ( oh yes they charge extra $ 1 for rice) more

Terrific Thai - not run of the mill 5/1/2007

My wife and I went there recently and had a great meal. We had the Nam and Chicken Sate to start. Both had very distinct flavors and spicing. Pros: Food, decor more

Best Thai Food outside of Thailand 2/17/2007

As Ace Preston, world famous international photographer, I travel all around the world and eat Thai food wherever I may roam and I must tell you that I find Seeda Thai II to be the best thai restaurant in the world to include many of Thailand's own. Seeda Thai also has a Vietnamese menu which although is a small selection the quality of the vietnamese food rivals most vietnamese restaurants I've been to including many in Vietnam itself. The prices of the food in Seeda Thai is comparable with the prices from the third world countries the food itself originates from except that Seeda Thai is located in the center of the world capital of NYC and you won't get sick eating the food like I did in Vietnam. I was so impressed with Seeda Thai II that I donated my finest personal collection of photos taken by myself in Thailand 2006 which are now on permanate display within the restaurant's walls. Pros: Food Quality & Prices Cons: Not open during lunch time on Sundays more

Can ALWAYS get a table, GREAT authentic food, GOOD VALUE, charming service 2/12/2007

I have eaten here a few times every year. Was here on Christmas day, 2006 (yes, they were open!), because we got caught in the rain. Although there weren't many diners, the staff warmly greeted us. Moreover, they did not rush/scoot us out the door (we had 2 whole hours to waste away until the play!), and they were very kind. Pros: plenty of seating, ROMATIC, great value, AUTHENTIC Thai Cons: can be a little too dimly lit... but that's not really a complaint for me! more

Last of the Real Thai Restaurants in NYC 1/16/2007

I've been going to this restaurant since it first opened up back in 1975. Since then many clones have come and gone but Seeda Thai II remains. It has the best food, inexpensive prices, fantastic service, and all in the middle of Manhattan. What more can one ask for? I eat there there twice a week. If you want real Thai food in New York there is only one place to go. Why settle for cheap imitations when you can have the real thing. Many patrons have walked through it's doors to include many of the world's most famous celebrities. Recently Tony Jaa of Onk-Bak fame was there. Now you know when real thai people go there to eat it's got to be good. It's as authentic as being in Thailand itself. I have eaten in hundreds of thai restaurants throughout the world and this is my Number 1 choice. Pros: Great quality food at low prices in an exciting location more

Great Food & Service 11/15/2006

Went to Seeda Thai II after going to the original in Valley Stream for years for a pre-theater dinner. My friends and I had a wonderful time! The owner, hostesses and bartender were all very friendly and hospitable. The food was great and when I told them to make it spicy...they made it spicy! It was a great bargin and I would definitely go again. Pros: Service, Food, Atmosphere Cons: Bad House Wine more

Great Thai, Nice Restaurant 10/19/2006

One of the first and best Thai places in the city! Real authentic taste. Not expensive and the atmosphere of the place is great. Also, they do have a party room, just be sure to contact the owner about that, Janet. She would be the one to speak with. All in all, a great place for dinner and a great place for catering or private parties! Pros: Food is soooo good, Great atmosphere, Celeb Hang out Cons: Nothing more

Good food 7/23/2006

The info is incorrect. They DO NOT have a private room at all. I asked them when I went to have dinner and they looked at me puzzled and said, This is all we have. Just go for the food though. Pros: the food was good Cons: no private room more

great service! 2/5/2005

i have been to this restaurant a couple of times and the service has been consistently great. the food is average quality for the price but the staff and ambiance make it a wonderful place to eat without busting your wallet. i especially like their pad si iew and hot thai tea. Pros: friendly staff, good food more

Good food! 11/24/2004

The food here is very good, although it is slightly more expensive than Thai places downtown. I usually order chicken, and it tastes great, especially the Pad Thai. The soup is not as good, though, as some other places. I highly recommend at least trying it once. And each time I go, the taste of food is consistent, which is rare at least in NY. Pros: Good taste, Good service more

Very good! 11/26/2003

Seeda Thai has a great menu and very pleasant staff. For an affordable meal this is a wonderful place! The chicken curry in coconut milk was delicious and just the right kind of spicy... The restaurant touts JFK, Jr. as one of its most famous patrons... Overall, an excellent dining experience! Pros: Inexpensive, Quiet more

BEST Pad See Ewe and PEANUT sauce 9/24/2002

I loved thai food until I had seeda, and now I won't eat thai anywhere else. That must be an old photo tho because the sign looks different....and I have been eating there for a year now. more
