Editorial review from Citysearch 9/8/2013

I lived here for over a year. The apartment was spacious but construction was cheap. My stove slanted downward to a major degree, and my dishwasher was installed crooked. When my lease ended, they wanted an additional 17% percent at minimum to release long-term and were unwilling to work with me regarding rates (I had to check back 3 times before I finally got a no). \r \r In the end, I chose to pay month-to-month because my boyfriend and I were looking to buy a house ASAP. The leasing agent failed to mention that though my lease had ended, and I was paying almost $300 more for month-to-month, I was still required to give 60-day notice. \r \r I wasn't happy about it, but okay. I gave notice mid-month and spoke with the manager, who assured me that once I moved out, my apartment would go on the market to be re-rented. I was out less than 30-days later and handed over the keys to a near perfect condition apartment. By the 1st of the next month, I had not heard from the leasing office nor received a bill for the remaining rent (according to their 60-day policy). I went in to the office on the 4th and was informed by the same manager that they did not forward a bill to my new address because I was still liable for rent through until the end of the 60-day period, nor would they have left anything on my (old) apartment door because I did not live there. Ummmm, okay? Furthermore, I was informed that not only were they expecting me to pay the additional rent, but they also wanted water, sewer, and trash as well. When I asked the manager how the post-move out walk-through had been, she informed me that she ""had not had time"" to do it in the previous two+ weeks, and would not be doing it until 3 days before my obligation was officially up. The more questions I asked, the ruder the manager became. \r \r Upon review of the company website, I saw that my apartment wasn't listed as being available until over a month after I moved out. Clearly, they were making no effort to re-rent the apartment prior to that date as originally promised. \r \r Overall, Sedona Springs is a corporate company only concerned with the bottom line. They make a cheap product with no concern for the happiness of their customer. I do not recommend this complex. more
