""Financial issues"" lead to not paying promised bonus 9/21/2010

This spring I applied to be a nanny through the Seattle Nanny Network agency (SNN) and got a job that started in March. On the SNN website it stated that nannies would get a ""signing bonus"" of $100 after completing one month of employment with a family that they were placed with through the agency. But when I asked them about this in April, they said that it was a mistake and they are no longer offering the bonus. However, they said that they would honor it with me, since the information had not been removed from their website. The problem is that ever since then, they have been telling me that the agency is having financial issues and they cannot afford to pay my bonus yet. I was asked to wait until September. When I contacted them recently, they still said that they cannot pay my bonus and gave me no indication of how much longer it will be. This is very frustrating to me, since I am putting myself through school right now and that money would help with my tuition (I am in a certificate program at Bellevue College, so it doesn't qualify for any federal aid). If their business is in such bad shape that they cannot afford $100, even after 5 months, then I'm not sure how they are still in business. Until this incident I would have been happy to recommend this agency to other nannies and families seeking care, but after the way they have treated me I don't think that I can. I have submitted a complaint to the BBB and will update this review if and when they follow through on their promises more

Great place to work! 4/7/2009

I am a temp nanny for the Seattle Nanny Network and have nothing but great things to say about this company. The staff is wonderful and they really do help to find you a family that is similar to you and your personality. I have been with them for 5 years now (all through college) and still enjoy working and look forward to their calls that set me up with new jobs! Thanks ladies! Pros: lovely staff & great at placing nannies with like families Cons: What are the drawbacks? more

The Staff really knows how to make a match 3/11/2009

Finding a job as a nanny is complicated. It's hard to know for sure if you will be a good fit and finding the right fit is so important when kids are involved. I was offered positions with other families, but I chose to work with Seattle Nanny Network because they work hard to make sure it's a good match. I knew the challenges families had before being sent out to meet with them and they could read my profile and see if my style matched their ideas about parenting. No one had to waste time on countless interviews to find out if it would be a good fit. I love the family that I am placed with and their needs perfectly match my skills. I owe a big thanks to SNN. more

Don't waste your money!! 3/7/2009

We got two different nannies through this agency and they were both awful. After firing both of them we found out that the agency regularly places nannies that have known ""issues"". They are just selective about what background facts and reference checks they share with you. The clincher to it all is they continued to place both of them after we fired them. After the 2nd firing they didn't even ask us why and then immediately placed her with another family. I think with the heavy use of the internet now they are having problems getting nannies to go through them and will not let go of one even if there are problems. Cons: Dishonest, unprofessional, overpriced more

Over Rated 1/21/2009

Do not go here! There are much better places to find nannies in Seattle. Your paying thousands of dollars to get a product you can do yourself. But if you don't have the time I'd try a more professional service and one that's a better bet for your money! more

Best Nanny Referral Agency 1/19/2009

SNN helped us find our current nanny - who is absolutely wonderful. And we found her in less than two weeks!! Their background checks, internivews and references on each canidate gave my husband and I a piece of mind when choosing the right nanny for our daughter! They are prompt, organized and professional. We are using them again now that our current nanny is going back to school! I highly recommend their service. more

Successfully placed Nanny 1/18/2009

I just wanted to say that I have worked as a Nanny through Seattle Nanny Network for many years and I have always found them to be professional and attentive to the needs of the families and nannies they work with. more

Great agency! 1/17/2009

I have used SNN for the past 3 1/2 years and found them to be courteous, reliable, and professional. They have always found wonderful, qualified temporary nannies and are very good about honoring requests for certain nannies. One time they were unable to find a nanny for me (I had given them less than 24 hours notice, and figured it was a long shot), and were nice enough to waive the fee for the next time I used their services. This is the agency to use if you want peace of mind regarding childcare. Pros: Return phone calls promptly, can request certain nannies more

Pretentious 10/27/2008

As a nanny who has used this service many times I would not recommend it. The placements are often with high maintenance mothers who treat nannies poorly. Not to mention the agency doesn't help until you give your notice to the current family leaving you high and dry if you don't find another connection right away. The office staff members are pretentious and more than likely write their own reviews! For other options try Care Works or A Nanny For You. more

Totally impressed! 10/18/2008

I turned to Seattle Nanny Network for my first Nanny position. They are extremely supportive, even after having matched me with a great family! Pros: communicate both through phone and email more

Unprofessional Staff 9/29/2008

It seems they only care about making a sale at Seattle Nanny Network. The staff is very money hungry and lacking customer service. I have used SNN for several years and the service has gone way down hill with new staff members. They need to learn the ethics of business, return customers and manners. There are plenty of other staffing networks who offer quality and professionalism. Keep looking for better service if your thinking of calling SNN! Pros: Use to be the top agency Cons: Unprofessional, rude, to much info on website, over priced more

Good nanny's, spotty service 5/14/2007

They provided great nannys for us to interview and provided all the services needed in that space. We love our current nanny from them. Post placement service has been a problem as a temp-nanny we requested a month in advance no-showed and we got an invoice threatening collections for a 55$ debt that was less than a month old. It was a real hardship to take the time off work to cover for the no-show. Getting a threat of collections, after paying them over 3K over the last six months is simply rude in my mind but I guess it is their right to do so. Pros: Good nannys Cons: Issues after placement more

Great Company 5/10/2006

Seattle Nanny Network is wonderful; the placement staff are extremely helpful--they are thorough, careful and attentive. Their nannies and temps are also very high caliber--the kind you cannot find by simply placing a newspaper ad! Their services have been worth every penny and I recommend them to all my friends. Pros: Thorough, Attentive, Helpful more

The best! 4/30/2006

Seattle Nanny Network is simply the best agency to work with for temp and permanent placement of nannies. Their staff is on top of your search from day one and they have the best candidates. more

Quality childcare providers 4/27/2005

Our family has considered Seattle Nanny Network a part of our family since the birth of our son almost three years ago. I would consider ourselves to be somewhat 'heavy users' of the agency, and have found the nannies provided us to be very professional, responsible, and fun as playmates. While we had initially interviewed other agencies for nanny services, we found Seattle Nanny Network to have a warmer, friendlier feeling about it than the other agencies--- I would have to attribute that to the wonderful staff. Yes, we are very grateful for the Seattle Nanny Network; thanks to their great work, my husband and I have been going on Friday night dates since our child was a month old Pros: Quality, Service, Value more

Great Service, perfect nannies 10/11/2004

I love this business. I can call with short notice and find a temp nanny for my child or I can hire a pre-screened nanny that has passed background checks, driving records and has a education degree! I interviewed several of their nanneis and I was impressed by the quality of their childcare providers. I have recommended them to all my friends and family as well. Thank god there is a service like this in the Puget Sound area. Pros: Qualified Nannies, Background clearance, experienced staff more
