The campground needs a lot of TLC. We camped with our horses and there is nothing about this place that is setup for horses. Corrals are falling apart and dangerous, and highline ...

We as seniors and our parents, with our pets stayed at this beautiful camping ground, it is one of the nicest! The Owner is very nice and helpful courteous and hardworking.\r The campsites are so clean and it is wonderful to see the stars at night without all the city lights! The ocean area is really close ,( it can be heard also the gulls calling one another), and one of the nicest.\r We would have preferred to have on camp site waste hookups. They are by the Office. The restrooms are very clean and smell clean. We love the place and plan to enjoy it there again soon. Thank you Richard!\r Rev .Judith A Hardy more

We stayed here June 15, 2013 after our plan ""A"" didn't work out. The owner was very courtious and helpful. We could tell that he cares about this campground by the way he keeps it. It's not just maintained but he goes the extra mile with freshly stained picnic tables, clean fire pits (most are washer tubs which are perfect) and spotless showers. Even the signs for the showers are freshly printed out, not wrinkled and dirty. This will be where we will stay next time we camp at the ocean. We could hear the ocean waves crashing all night and we woke up to dear in the campsite next to us. There are also stalls available for horses that are very clean and well maintained. I have never written a review for any place but I promised I would for this location. Thanks again for a great time. We will see you soon Screamin' Eagle! more

The new owner is true to his word - the campground has been remodeled and appears to be very well cared for. We stayed the last weekend in May and it was clean and quiet park. Owner is very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be going back. more

so much fun! make your reservation now!!! 5/29/2012

spent memorial day weekend there. the new owner is a really nice guy. he hooked us up with a bunch of fire wood the bathrooms are remodeled, clean and nice. all the grounds are kept up and maintained really well. there wasnt very many people at the site for hte weekend but the people that were there were really nice temporary neighbors. its so close to the beach that we walked there. i really liked that it was close enough to ocean shores gbut no so close that there was a whole lot of prople on the beach by the campground like it is closer to the city. this place pretty much kicks ass! bring your kids and dogs and horses!!! more

Campground needs some major TLC. 8/29/2011

The campground needs a lot of TLC. We camped with our horses and there is nothing about this place that is setup for horses. Corrals are falling apart and dangerous, and highline area is overgrown. Hoses leak and are placed in dangerous locations for horses. (There is a reason there are no photos of horse accommodations on the website) The campground does have a wheel barrel and supplies to clean up after the horses. The owner WAY overbooked the weekend with too many horses. Some of the other campers had aggressive horses that sure put a damper on the weekend. We also cleaned up the corral areas and found broken glass, screws and other random garbage that could have easily been cleaned up before we arrived. If you do decide to risk camping here with your horses bring fence repair supplies as a majority of the time we spent at camp was repairing fences. We even had to go buy our own nails! The owners did not help nor make any attempt to reconcile the situation. Roads in the campground are poor with large pot holes, however there is plenty of space for trucks and trailers to park comfortably and still fit in tents/campfire. etc. If you are tent camping this place would be perfect as it is close to the beach and they do have decent bathrooms and showers. The showers are gross, wear flip flops. (The showers were the only thing that had hot water.) There is only ONE RV hookup and that spot is next to the bathrooms. Plenty of campers had dogs and the leash rules were not enforced. You can buy some nicely dried out wood for campfires for $10 a wheel barrel full otherwise I would recommend bringing your own. more

The WORST Camping experience 7/14/2011

TERRIBLE!!! If you like LOUD obnoxious music, criminal activity, and a host/owner who could care less and will not refund your hard earned money, than this is the place for you. The reason it is cash only, is so nobody can cancell their check, or contact their credit card company. we stayed about 4 hours after paying for 4 days, $140.00 down the drain. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy! Well, maybe i would. When we found another place to camp, there were 4 other campers who left this same camp/gang ground. They had mentioned theft of their belongings and a real sence of danger. Pack a gun when you camp there...I did! more
