A resort? I don't think so 12/29/2005

This place is not what it's all beefed up to be. I don't think i'll be recommending this place to anyone. We were so excited to stay here with my family and our visit was just depressing. This "resort" if you can even call it that is not kid friendly, staff are unexcited about their jobs, and it's expensive. I would have hoped for the price paid to receive a more quality service. If you are looking for a resort that is kid friendly, decor up to date, and friendly staff, find another resort, as the Scottsdale Plaza Resort is more like a hotel. more

Not so bad 9/21/2005

The Scottsdale Plaza is definitely due for a refurb. The rooms are outdated and it is more like a motel than a hotel. Don't be fooled by the "Plaza" name... this is nothing like the Plaza in New York. However, when we stayed there it was clean and the staff was extemely nice. Their concierge is great about helping you find things to do and we found that the restaurant was quite good. The lobby is pretty and relaxing. The best feature is the HUGE pool-sized hot tub. There's enough room there for at least 40 people and it's right next to the bar area. Very fun on a cool night. more

Stay AWAY!!!!!!!! 7/31/2005

This place looks and SOUNDS so beautiful from the brochures and from the street. Lovely grounds, beautiful buildings and enticing amenities make it seem/look like a four star resort...NOT! It's more like a Motel 6 on steroids. The rooms are disgusting- PERIOD. We had them switch our room THREE times in the first two days because of bugs, spiderwebs, filth, broken furniture, etc. This place gave me nightmares. The service was top-notch from the bellmen to the room service staff, however, even their perky, smiling faces could not turn this tragedy of a roach motel into the lap of luxury it aspires to be. At $300+ a night, do yourself a favor and go across the street to the Doubletree...you'll save about $50 a night and not get the heebie jeebies as you sleep in your smelly, 70's-era decorated room with stained carpeting and scratched up, filthy furniture. more

Ecomonical Stay At Scottsdale Plaza Resort 7/29/2005

We recently stayed at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort - we had a stay for $125, get $100 food credit deal. This definitely makes this resort a good buy. The room was large and clean decorated in an older resort style. The lobby was pretty with a bar and restaurant. We ate in the restaurant, Remingtons, it was good but pricey. The pool was fun with a pool side bar. The bartender was extremely nice. At night, they showed a children's movie out by the pool, also a nice touch. If you can get this special, I would stay here. more
