Best

This Is Scott Taylor... and I want to say to all.. thank you for 15 great years! I have relocated to Grayton Beach for a " New Chapter" in life! Please look us up when down here. ...

Worst

While Scott himself is very good at what he does, the wait time to get into his chair can be excessive. The staff turnover is very high.

Bob is right! 3/3/2012

I find it interesting that jacksontaylor that is defending Scott Taylor after Bob's complaint, is the name of Scott Taylor's son....so either, his wife, his son, or himself wrote that review...tsk tsk.....I personally had him for a hairdresser, and was not all that impressed...his colors are gold on most people's hair and do not bother to tell him...he doesn't have time to hear negative complaints about his work...good luck in florida..you are probably gonna need it. more

Award winning hairdresser,award winning salon,Bob doesn't have a clue . 10/21/2008

In the thirteen years of a great relationship with Scott Taylor,I know for a fact that he nevers discriminates agianst anyone. His clients range from 16 to 86 and you can see he clearly enjoys each and every one of them. Scott had to make a very hard decision to let go Madlyn Hudgens because only a few of her elderly clients were majorly disruptive and after many conversations to change the behavior of the few with no result, a change had to happen. They were very disruptive. Most of here clients were great, but as one knows it takes but only a few to spoil things. With the type of work he does,no one needs that type of distraction. He headed the Academy Awards the Young&the Restless and many other major events in his 30year career. He is above the small stuff ""Bob"" mentioned. Bob, Get A LIFE!!!!!!!!!!! Pros: experienced skills and extreemly knowledgable about todays fashion trends in hair. Cons: not open Sundays more

age discrimination? 8/18/2008

This guy kicked my favorite hair stylist out with no notice. She is a sweet woman and had no previous indication of any problems with him. He said in a written notice, that her clients (mostly older women) didn't fit in. This sounds like an age discrimination case to me! Cons: age discrimination more

great cut, not rushed 4/30/2007

I have been searching for many years to find someone that can cut & style long hair. Scott is a excellent and has finally given me a long, straight hair style that is amazing. You may not feel like you are walking into a trendy dayspa, but don't let the atmosphere scare you. He talks to you before he starts every haircut to make sure he knows what you want. A relaxed atmosphere, not rushed. Pros: spends time with customer, not rushed-great cut Cons: hours are limited more

good customer service 6/30/2006

have you ever noticed that when you read a review and the person's review is unfavorable. that person usually is unfavorable about their entire life - not just their hair. their job - or lack of - their life, their husband, the way they look at stuff. Scott Taylor is a salon that has been here for 10 years. he has gone through his trials and tribulations like any and all other businesses. i highly recommend Scott for not only his work but for a man who tries as hard as you and i do. you don't last 10 years in business and not do the right thing. if you are giving a review to a salon, a restaurant, or any other business, you remember that owner has done and answers to 35 other people before they get to you. whether it is paying the rent, replacing a light bulb or working with a landlord with a leaking roof. maybe before doing a review you should pull the stick out of your eye before trying to pull a thorn out of someone else's. always a loyal friend and customer. more

Not Sure what to think........... 5/21/2006

The salon was nice and clean. Scott did listen to what I wanted and almost gave me just that. The only down fall I see is that he and his staff make you feel some what uncomfortable, they seem to whisper alot to each other. Be sure when and if you go that you have alot of time. I waited a long time. I was there for about 3 hours. And talk to them about price before he gets started. I almost fell to floor when they said my total. I beleive that a women and or man should look and feel there best, but shouldn't have to pay a small fortune for it. Pros: Clean salon, Nice people, great hair products Cons: Expensive, Long wait, not alot of parking more

User review by mominnashville 4/26/2006

I've been going to Scott for nine years. I am conservative with my hair, but my sister is trendier, and he makes us both happy. I love his coloring and frequently receive compliments. The Pureology products he carries are FABULOUS for maintaining color. His salon is not uppity like some nicer salons can be. In the past it did take awhile to get into his chair, but he has really worked on that and I don't find that to be the case any longer. As for price, I think you get what you pay for and as any woman will tell you, a reliably good cut and color is priceless! Before I met Scott I was always switching hairstylists and it sure is nice to have found someone that I hope will be cutting my hair for many years to come. I would HIGHLY recommend you give him a try! more

Trying to find a salon 3/27/2006

I have been to several different salons, and I recently had my hair cut and colored by Scott Taylor. He is very nice, but I had to wait over an hour. I would recommentd him if you didn't have anything important to do the rest of the day. Finally, when it was my turn, he was almost too nice-maybe over-compensating for the long wait. He seemed to be very knowledgable in color, but his hair cutting was dated. It could of been that I was younger than his clients that were waiting with me, and they had a certain look that they were used too. So I guess if you are 40+, play it safe with your hair style, and don't mind an undesirable long wait this would be the place for you. I have found another salon that fits my style better. Pros: great highlighting, nice Cons: dated cutting skills, terrible parking, unswept hair more

Best cut I've had in years!! 11/3/2005

I just recently relocated here to Nashville, TN, and I have been searching for a hairstylest. I've tried several other salon's, but was never really happy when I left. Frustrated with the fact that I just spent over $140.00 on my hair and had go re-do it all. With Scott, I finally found somebody who listens to me and get's what I want. I love the attention and service I recieve from both Scott and his staff from the minute I walk in the door. While it's not cheap, it's worth a few extra dollar's to me to feel satisfied and feel good about how a look. I highly recommend Scott Taylor's Salon to all. He not only my hairsylist, he's now my friend. Pros: Great Cut and Color, Attentive service, fun atmosphere more

Just Fabulous!! 9/23/2005

I have had the pleasure of having Scott Taylor as a hair stylist and friend for the past six years. I just went to Las Vegas and met a stylist to the stars. She went on an on about the color of my hair. She said it was one of the best she had ever seen!! She told me that I was very lucky to have some one this talented in Nashville. I agree. He is talented, friendly, professional, and a wonderful chrisitian man. I will continue to go to Scott until he cannot hold a pair of scissors anymore. more

If you have lots of time..... 8/24/2005

oK 6/17/2005

I have gone to Scott twice, the first time it was ok, I came out with an average haircut that cost me $60.00, the second time my haircut was really bad and my haircoloring washed out in 1 week. Definetly would go to a cheaper place in the future, not worth the money. more

Loyal customer... 6/7/2005

I have been going to Scott Taylor's Salon for over two years now. I have gone to many places in the past, from SuperCuts to other ""salons."" I have always had the best haircut, color, and attention with Scott. Is it expensive, yes. You get what you pay for the upmost attention, experience and talent. I'm not rich by any means. Is there a wait? Most of the times, yes. But I have yet to be in a salon where there isn't one, and I would rather wait if I know I am going to get the best hairstyle and color possible. Is Scott ""cocky"" as someone alluded too? If confidence in your work is cocky, yes, Scott is. He has the experience and best of all, many, many repeat customers. Judge for yourself. I will continue to go even though I will moving farther away. more

waiting, waiting, waiting 5/20/2005

I went to Scott a few months back for a color and haircut. his attitude was cocky and I was there for 4 hours. I told them when I made my appointment that I had a wedding that afternoon, and Scott said I would be done in plenty of time. When I arrived I waited like 40 minutes and I again asked if I would be done on time. scott insisted that he'd have me ""looking fabulous in time"" for the wedding. But I was late for the wedding and to top it off HE knew I was late and didn't even apologize or acknowledge it, but the girl at the front desk did. I don't appreciate someone who doesn't value my time. I didn't want to be sitting there waiting all day, but I did. I'd rather go somewhere else where it only takes an hour or so. Pros: nice staff Cons: LONG wait more

Worth the drive 4/8/2005

My wife won't turn her hair over to just anyone, that's why she drives three hours - both ways - to get Scott to do the job. His staff is personable and accomodating, and Scott takes pride in making sure the cut ""works"" for the customer. He and his staff make sure each customer receives the full extent of their skills and knowledge and don't get rushed through the process. The style, the visit, the feeling afterwards have always proven to be worth the effort to frequent Scott's salon. Nashville is lucky to have him in town. Pros: Professional, Friendly more

THE only place to go in Nashville 4/5/2005

Scott is a wonderful artist. He will make your style beyound your expectations. He also has a great staff. You will be happy you went. Pros: Listened, excelled expectations, caring more

Emperor's New Clothes 3/19/2005

Like a magician, Scott has great lighting, flourishes and the words you want to hear about what he will do for you. The reality, after paying an unbelieveable $70 for a simple cut, was a very average cut, no better than what I pay $15 for up the road. Scott is a nice guy and so is his staff, but definitely not worth the money. What was meant to be a special treat was a disappointment. more

Very average experience 2/26/2005

Overall experience was very average. My hair cut was very average. Some folks on the staff were great. The wait was ridiculously long. more
