Schumann, Keith W, Md - Schumann Dermatology Group

Went to Dr. Schumann for a dry patchy lesion on my leg and to get a refill on psoriasis medicine. He looked at my leg and could not determine what the lesion was, so he gave me some steroid cream. The treatment worked and the lesion disappeared within days. When he asked to see the psoriasis, I told him it was located near my rear and I would have to partially disrobe to show it to him. He informed me that psoriasis cannot appear on that area and it must be something else. This seemed peculiar to me. The dermatologist that diagnosed me with psoriasis years ago showed me a medical journal with an actual photo of another person who had it in the exact same spot. Hmmmm... I asked him if he would examine the area just to make sure I hadn't been misdiagnosed. He refused to examine it and had his assistant along with one of his wife's dental assistants (his wife is a dentist in the same office building) come to look at the psoriasis. It was entirely unprofessional and I was quite appalled. I've been to many Doctors over the years to have my prescription refilled. They all examined the area THEMSELVES and had no problems doing so. Moreover, they all have confirmed that diagnosis of psoriasis. Maybe you will have better luck with this dermatologist, but I on the other had will steer clear! more

I'm 26 years old and went to Dr. Schumann for IPL treatments for redness in my face. I paid $2500 for a series of 5 treatments. When I went in everyone seemed friendly, the office was nice and Dr. Schumann seemed pretty knowledgable. Boy, was I wrong! The procedure was painful and Dr. Schumann does not use numbing cream as standard procedure. After 3 IPL treatments, I expressed my concern that there was no improvement in my skin...and I mean NO improvement! Not so much as a faded freckle. Dr. Schumann then decided he would use a different laser and do spot treatments. It was so painful my eyes were watering uncontrollably and I had to ask him to stop a few times. When I left, the dozen or so spots that he had ""treated"" were very red and painful. Over the next few days these spots turned into open wounds and formed ""pockets"" in my skin. I went to Dr. Schumann and he actually laughed and said it looked like I had cat scratches all over my face! He admitted to putting the laser on too high a setting and sent me home with antibiotic cream. When I asked for them to refund my $2500 they refused and said that they would do the CO2 laser to help get rid of the scars ""for free"".FYI: The CO2 laser is a serious surgery where they put you under and your face is looks like it was melted off for weeks! \r I have spoken with 2 plastic surgeons, both of which were appalled at the treatment I received and even more appalled that he would suggest I do the CO2 treatment! I have contacted Dr. Schumann's office several times and Dr. Schumann will not return my calls. His office manager is still rude and refuses to refund my money. She also refused to give me my medical records. It's been a few weeks since the last treatment and I have indented scars all over my face. I'm embarrassed to go out and have to be really careful with my skin. I still have not heard back from Dr. Schumann and will need further treatment to get rid of the scars. Needless to say, it was a HORRIBLE experience! Cons: Left me with scars! more
