DO NOT USE THERE SERVICE! I REPEAT, DO NOT USE THERE SERVICES!
I'm typically the one to not complain about businesses because I don't like giving feedback whether it's positive or negative. I understand that business always tend to get more negative response then usual. But what i experienced with Scher Tire, was a ""complete"" rip off. I've been going to Scher Tire for over 2 years (oil changes, new tires, tire repairs, break changes, roater change, etc...) because i live walking distance to the shop. Over the past 2 months, i've spent about 2000.00 on repair and maintenance. Yesterday, my car would not accelerate (I drive a dodge charger r/t). I took it in to Scher tire to inspect the car and see what was wrong with it. After 3 hours, Dave called me and said ""Your going to need a new tranny"". ""It'll run you about 3k but i have my feelers out to see if I can get you a good deal"". He called me back about 30 minutes later and said ""Ok, It's going to run you about 3900 to get the car repaired"". Mind you, my car has about 62k miles. In the back of my mind, i couldn't believe that i had to get a new transmission because the car is fairly new. So I went to pick the car up, when I got the keys from Dave, he said ""I can put on a used transmission for 2300"" At that point, I knew he was trying to sell me. I got a second opinion from an honest mechanic in Lake Forest (Jose) Econo Repair (i think that's the name). He inspected the car and informed me that i would only need to repair the sensor and fix the wiring (which would only cost me 200 bucks). And, my transmission doesn't need repair. Apparently, my transmission is in perfect condition. I would've paid 4k for a 200 dollar job!!! DO NOT USE Scher Tire!!! I must say, the only person i can trust there is the philipino guy. If your getting an oil change, be prepared, they'll try and sell you on something else. Total Rip OFFS!!!
