Good Doctor and Helpful Staff! Stop Tripping 3/30/2011

I read all the horror stories about visits to Midtown Medical and I am truly shocked! I've been a patient of Midtown for many years and outside of changing from one doctor to the other, I've had no problems with the office, the doctors and/or staff and I even get my prescriptions renewed via telephone if needed! I find the staff very helpful and accommodating and Dr. Scheiner is the best and spends time discussing your condition and going over test results, etc. He's caring and will return my call when asked while I am travelling. I don't know why so many people have given negative reviews, but I've had no problems with anyone there. more

Great place to be abused 11/6/2009

I wish I had read reviews before I went here. The staff is rude and incompetent, the doctor I saw was pleasant but kept yelling at one of the aides to ""find that sonogram."" Stay away. Pros: location Cons: unprofessional more

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL 2/19/2009

If i could give this place a negative rating i would. first of all, the office staff is awful. and it's true about the wait. when y ou are on your lunch hour who has an hour just to wait to get seen. getting a refill filled - forget about it. they make you come in before they will call it in. all so they can get reimbursed for the visit. i needed a refill that i ran out of and they asked me why i would wait so long - like i did it on purpose. then i met with the dr. one time and he was eating his lunch while speaking to me. Professionalism - non existent. i feel like i am walking into a free clinic everytime i go here. Cons: all more

Avoid! 3/27/2008

IF YOU WANT TO GET GOOD HEALTH CARE DO NOT GO TO MIDTOWN MEDICAL! \r \r This is a ""medical mill"" they are not interested in getting you better they are interested in making money off your insurance. Dingy offices, unprofessional and unorganized staff and uncommunicative and overworked ""doctors"". \r \r An aggravating waste of time. Pros: Proximity to midtown Cons: Staff, Quality of care, more

Such a hassle! DON'T GO HERE!! 1/24/2008

Anything I try to do with Midtown Medical is a hassle. Doctors only work certain days of the week, their hours are late in the morning and close early (My doctor works Monday and Wednesday, 10-5 only, which is totally inconvenient for any working New Yorker!!) and when you arrive, they keep you waiting for hours. Seriously, I went in for a noon appointment and wound up seeing the doctor at 4. That's disrespectful of the patient's time, and the assistants in the office are unkind and unapologetic. On top of that, to get an Rx refill is near impossible. My pharmacy gets mad at me because they call and fax prescriptions requests and don't ever hear back! I am looking into switching my health plan just to find a new doctor! more

Not recommended 12/28/2007

My experience with Midtown Medical was dissapointing and needlessly expensive. I went in for a routine physical, seeking advice on general healthy living. The doctor recommended bloodwork, which turned out to NOT be covered by my insurance company (something the doctor should have alerted me to). The results of the bloodwork turned out to be completely clean, but the doctor made me schedule a follow-on to ""go over the results"" and charged me an additional $200 for that appointment -- not to mention the wasted time. The review of results consisted of him telling me that the results were fine and the ""follow-on"" lasted about 30 seconds. \r \r All-in-all the visit cost me over $1000 with no better advice than I could have gotten from a men's magazine. The accounting department failed to address some billing other issues despite 5-6 calls and broken promises over a few months. more
