Today at 3:00 I stopped by Scamps in the Valley River Mall and heard a
puppy crying. I walked to the back and found it in a small cage (it's a
large puppy, a Wiermeraner) and had no water and no water container.
When I told 2 employees, who were ignoring its cries and working on a
shelf, they said it had only come in this morning, "did it drink up all the
water already," and tthat hey'd give it water. Considering it had no
water container, I'm sure it had been without water all day. I watched to
make sure they gave it water.
I called LCARA (Lane co. Animal Regulation Authority) to report
the neglect, and they told me this store has a long history of neglect
incidences. What I don't understand is how this store can continue
to legally stay in business when it has a recorded history of treating its
I urge everyone to not shop there, and to call or write the store
and tell them why.
