Interesting, but not so clean 5/23/2006

The first time I went to Savers was with a boyfriend about 6 years ago and, if I remember right, he said going into Savers was like getting your immunizations all at once! lol I go there every once in a while and there are deals to be found if you can overlook the "dirtyness". A friend of mine goes here alot and finds all kinds of stuff! She founf a Fendi handbag with blown glass beads all over it, and a Louis Vuitton purse. Patience is the key, I think, but I don't like taking my kids there, even I get tired of hearing myself say, "Don't touch that, its yucky!" But maybe when my kids are all in school I can frequent these types of places without being so stressed about what my kids are touching before I can wash them. more

Thrifty! 4/4/2006

Savers isn't the best thrift store in Boise, but if you're looking for a store with massive selection (not necessarily good, but massive) at all times, then you should stop by for a visit every now and then. The staff is mostly high school and college aged, so if you're looking for good records or trendy vintage clothing, rest assured that the staff will get to it before you do. But you will find something unique every now and again. I found a vintage Japanese teapot there for only three dollars. So stop by when you are in the area, and keep your eyes peeled for that one-of-a kind find! more

Savers is yucky.... 4/2/2006

This is one of the grossest stores in the valley. The store smells horribly and their stuff is way old, outdated and over-all gross..... The store is so crowded with people and "junk". I have purchased a few things there in the past but you have to be very careful because they staple the price tags onto the clothing and when you staple something to a knit shirt you end up with a hole no matter how carefully you remove the staple.... There are many nicer thrift stores in the area with much nicer stuff in much better atmospheres.... more

"Save" your time and don't go 3/30/2006

So we went to this store to try and find a Halloween costume for my husband. The entire store stunk and it was like going to a gigantic garage sale. If you like shopping other people's junk then this is your store. We went in there and only lasted 5 minutes. We left and will never return. Not my kind of store. more

Dirty, yucky store. 12/2/2005

I enjoy shopping at Savers because it is in a neighborhood full of thrift shops, and it is part of the list of stores I hit. It is a big store, and has lots of selection, but it is usually pretty dirty. Everything needs washed when it comes home, and I feel like I need to wash my hands as soon as I leave. Taking my kids in there is just a nightmare. But I have found some great deals there in the past, and will keep looking, but without the kids and with some hand sanitizer. more

A Nicely Organized Thrift Store, But Prices Are Silly! 9/12/2005

If you like the thought of thrift store shopping, but don't go because of the clutter...Savers might be a happy medium for you. Savers is a very well organized store that has all the clothing grouped in sizes (go figure), and everything else in logical, easy-to-fine places. You can find some incredible treasures there. They have designer clothing and housewares, new items, antiques, etc; HOWEVER...don't expect to pay thrift store prices here. The pricing of this thrift store is very high compared to other stores in the area. Granted, you still will pay much less than the original price, but definitely not thrift store prices. For example, I just saw a designer pant set marked at $24.99, and it was a used item. You can find some deals, you just have to look. They have sale days, which are great. They feature 99 cent Mondays and 50 percent off other days of the week. These sales are based on tag color. Overall, I really like Savers, but I'm extremely picky when it comes to what I buy. I usually won't buy anything over about $12.99 unless it's on sale...so just be choosy and you'll have a great time here!! more

Fun Thrift Store 8/21/2005

Savers is a fun second-hand store. They have tons of apparel for everyone in the family. We love to go to Savers around Halloween because they have great costume choices. They also have a lot of children’s toys that are in good condition. The prices and selection at Savers are great. Check often and new bargains come and go all the time. more
