My hubs and I decided to have pizza after visiting the amazing big bear zoo and we saw Saucy Mama's so we walked in. We had a 5 month old with us so we thought this place would be a great sit down, eat, and get on with our day kind of place. NOT SO MUCH.
We sat down and had menus handed to us. Drinks were ordered quickly, and my husband ordered an appetizer. I ordered a soda and husband ordered a beer. While filling the beer the server yelled over to our table that the keg blew. So my husband ordered a different beer instead. So she dumped the mug and filled that same mug with the other beer. They must not like to do dishes at this joint.
My soda was flat. I walked up to the bar to get a different kind and almost felt like she was pissed that I was even there. Twenty min. later my husband and I decided we better once again walk to the bar and tell the server we would also like to order food.
I ordered a pizza, husband ordered a calzone. Baby was getting fussy at this point. Another 20 minutes later our food arrived. The server throws the plates down and says ""Do you want another beer,"" he says no and she immediately turned around. Never asked us if we needed anything else, or if he wanted something else to drink, didnt ask or offer to refill my soda. Nada. Worse server ever. The calzone was 75% olives and the pizza was flavorless. The dough was saturated with juices from the veggies and was limp and bland. We were both very disappointed. We though that the food MUST make up for the crappy service. Not the case.
After all of this we paid way too much AND we had to go to the bar AGAIN to request the check because by this time the baby needed to eat.
Side note-they also do not have a changing table in the bathroom which meant changing baby on the floor. yuck.
Find another place to dine in Big Bear, this place ALMOST ruined our great day.
