the food is great and fresh. the price is reasonable, the dinner room u will feel relax, warm and they have a friendly service. if u never been there, u have to go there. I know they have a new SATO in 1395 2nd ave, in manhattan. more

New style japanese cuisine 12/27/2007

I have dine in sato couple time already. Atmosphere good relax, service was friendly and knowledgeable. And the food a creative like sashimi, beautiful presentation,taste well balance. Also hot food a great too. Such as lamb chop with morlot teriyaki sauce good mix,, sea bass yuzu broth nice aroma .After finish the dinner me and my wife was so happy walk out the door and the bill was so nice(no expensive)thankyou SATO more

I was working in a restaurant in Paris and I've been dreaming of becoming a famous cook in France. I came to New York from Paris for a vacation to visit the place and the restaurants. I was going out to eat dinner and my family members took my over to Sato's japanese restaurant. I really liked the decorations in the restaurant as well as the food. The food there was fantastic. The food they served were all fresh and they have great service. Why aren't there restaurants like these in Paris?! If you go there, you won't regret it. Pros: Parking, Service and everything else! more

Sushi and more 12/17/2007

For a few years now ( 5years) Sato has gave us REALLY one of the best sushi one can expect, I'm really happy now that Sato has just Opened in Manhattan on Second Ave and 72nd street, Can't wait to have more of that Yellowtail tartare and my favorite of all is the Hot foie gras with eel that a truth delight maybe because of his French background. Pros: Japanese cuisine with a French Twist! Cons: hard to choose it's all good! more

Actually i am the regular customer Sato in queen.the sushi was so excellent!!!!!!!! and the best news is the sato second restaurant just opened at 1395 2nd ave new york. im so luckly is just near my office.and the first i stepped in there,i was surpriced by the decoration so great and so romantic.i started to order my favorite one ""sushi sashimi"".they always get me the fresh one.yes it is the way they are,alwasy offer the fresh one.not just the fresh food the service was so great too.they are so friendly too.i am really really feel the good atmosphere in there.trust me,SATO is best of the best japanese restaurant in manhattan. more

Wonderful 1/13/2007

This place is wonderful, I have enjoyed every visit and plan to visit more often. I absolutely adore the maki rolls they serve as well as the appetizers like gyoza and shumai. They have the usual rolls including some unique ones taste fantastic. I'm somewhat addicted to their volcano roll. Plus the waiters are courteous and are willing to explain items to you. They also having parking which is another great perk. Pros: Atmosphere, Parking, Great Service, Great Food more

There aren't many sushi restaurants in Queens that I trust will always have fresh, quality sushi but Sato is one of them! Their portions aren't that big but the decor and service make up for it. Pros: parking lot in the back, good place to go if you live in Queens, room in the back for a larger party more

I love this quaint restaurant in Forest Hills. The owner himself does the ordering, and insures the food is always fresh. The service is friendly and very helpful. They do offer specials daily that are not written in the menu, so make sure you ask them for the daily specials. I highly recommend this restaurant, it serves the best Japanese food in Queens! So if you're looking for great Japanese food without driving in to the city, this is it! Pros: Parking, Food, Service more

If you are looking for a moderately priced Sushi place with a nice low key ambiance you will be surprised what this little GEM Offers. In the middle of Queens Blvd, this spot makes a great dinner place before the big night on a town. Expect to spend on average of $50 to $70 for two people with some drinks and FRIED CHEESCAKE Dessert. (A must). IMO Great value for quality food. My husband and I LOVE this place. Generally we just have rolls and sushi, but they also have main course dishes. The appetizers are great...consisting of the usual, gyoza, edamame plus other apps like scallops in spicy mayo sauce (excellent), grilled squid, etc. In general, a good deal for the quality (affordable but not cheap). I've never had bad sushi here. And leave room for desert... try the fried cheesecake - it's actually pretty light (for cheesecake)! If you have a large group, make reservations.
