Sasha Salon and Spa

I have been to this salon twice. The first time was soon after I moved to Cambridge. I went for a bikini/leg wax (which I had done regularly for years, so this isn't a first-timer's complaint). The woman who did it burned me with the wax, and then laughed. She then proceeded to make fun of me for being "too hairy" (isn't she used to it?) and saying I was "like a man." Well, that's why I was there... In the end, she not only made me feel bad, she didn't even do a good job. The second time I went, I was using a gift certificate and scheduled a facial and skincare consultation. The beautician (a different woman) asked me scornfully why I was getting a facial instead of a massage and then proceeded to give me a very fast and unpleasant facial. She then shoved a small sample of a cleanser at me and left. It wasn't even for my skin type. So much for the consultation. I would never go back. more

I went and got a french manicure last summer here with a friend. I had never been anywhere in Boston for a manicure, so it was a shot in the dark. For $20, I got an excellent french manicure. The lady was nice and she didn't do anything unprofessional or unsanitary. My nails looked great for almost 2 weeks afterward--no chips or scratches. The price was a little expensive for a manicure, but it was definitely good! more
