?The gate is pretty much redundant. If you are looking for a gated apartment because of security, their neighbor Colonial Grand is not gated and has less crime reports than this non-functional gated apartment.
?The office people not as friendly as they are suppose to be. The only exception is Chase (or is it Jason? Oh well, the better looking one), he should teach the rest about good customer service. You have to be lucky to catch them in a better customer service mood.
?The humid, dusty and seemingly air-tight basketball court. During the summer months, that place is like a sauna. A fresh smell of sweat if you are stuck in there with more than two people.
?The hot or cold air might not reach your room. This is where it will bite you when you look at your utility bill. I have to shut off all the vents so that I can get air out of my bedroom vent. Asked them to clean out the vents twice but it is still the same.
?The space between our apartment and the one below us is almost useless. When the tenants below turn on their bathroom exhaust fan, we will hear that annoying sound resonating through the thin walls. It was more irritating when the tenants below used their bathroom at 7am for almost an hour every day.
?Their monthly rent is definitely not competitive with those apartments that are on MacArthur. When we were looking (Oct-Dec 08), the Grand Venetian (which is better in many aspects) costs $50 less than what we were paying at Santa Fe. Across the street, Villa Miranda which made some upgrades, costs $70 less. Our current apartment, Alta Lofts at Las Colinas costs $100 more but we got 90 sq ft more, stainless steel fixtures and appliances, granite countertop, lake view, indoor garage, and a contemporary loft layout.
?Don?t walk on the grass. The probability of stepping on dog excrements is pretty high.
