On March 15, 1993, Sandhill Orthopaedic & Sportsmedicine opened its door to the community of Southwest Kansas with the intention of providing quality general and specialized orthopaedic care. Now years later, Dr. Michael J. Baughman has watched what was once a five-man operation grow to include 30 employees and has built a new facility at Main and Fulton.
Sandhill Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Physical Therapy features state of the art rehabilitation equipment. The therapy staff specializes in rehabilitation to general orthopaedics, sportsmedicine and work related injuries. In addition to the outreach services the ATCs are an integral part of our rehabilitation and therapy department.
Our goal is to provide cost effective treatment of musculoskeletal, occupational disease and injuries through:
Early competent evaluation
Prompt effective treatment, emphasizing rapid return to restricted or full duty
Rehabilitation with a goal of timely maximal medical improvement
Clear communication with patients, employers, case managers and insurance adjusters
Expeditious case closure with credible impairment ratings (rate and release in a timely fashion)
Our physician, nurses and physical therapists can effectively care for your work related injuries.
Non-operative conditions are usually treated with physical therapy, appropriate medications, injections and restricted work activities. Restrictions will be re-evaluated and modified as necessary at each follow-up appointment thus allowing a gradual return to full duty or permanent restrictions.
