Sanai's Restaurant & Lounge

I am writing in response to the message posted on April 10th........it's amazing that this person has such negative things to say about the restaurant and it's management. I have been to the restaurant numerous times and I think it's one of the best places in Jersey City. The restaurant is located in a well-lit area and has parking right next to the building. The food is unbelievable and the people are always pleasant. I often go there alone, but I always feel like I'm surrounded by friends. The bartenders are friendly and the manager is not only intelligent and articulate but she's very easy on the eyes;). The group of people varies, but I personally have never encountered ""THE HOOD"". I always use my credit card and I have never encountered a problem. It appears that whoever wrote the review is bitter and appears to have a personal vendetta against the owner (hence her calling HIM out by name in the post). It's truly sad that some people are soo negative and will lie in an attempt to deter business......but the thing that is often forgotten is that you can not destroy someone else's destiny and purpose.......so nice try Samantha69. With such negativity, I'm sure management isn't disappointed with losing your business. As my mother would always say "" Everything isn't for Everybody"". For anyone who has never been to the restaurant......try it for yourself and come to your own conclusion......I'm sure you will not be disappointed . BTW....the calamari and blackened tilapia are GREAT GREAT GREAT!!!! more

My family and friends has visited this restaurant a few times and was truly happy with the service and the food is excellent. We have always paid our acounts with credit cards and never had an issue after the fact. Because I am looking at the establiishment for a couple of private events and speaking with friends about it I decided to look at some of the reviews and I was stunned about the statements made. My questions to the negative comments are: 1. Did you contact the management about your issue and did they make some type of suggestion to assist you with your situation or thoughts? 2, We all know that some neighborhoods have more social issues than others. We cannot totally hold a business responsible for what occurs outside their doors but we can assist them with informing them of situations that have occurred. Did you speak with the management about the situation on the street? Were the police called for re-enforcement? Too often we are upset and display views that are not in a good light for us nor business that are trying to provide a good service to the neighborhood. more

I once was person with intrigity and morals until I Sanai robbed me blind.. This place is money hungry and in desperate need. BEWARE of your NEIGHBORHOOD.. THE HOOD IS DEFINITELY IN TOWN... Who in the world can run a business w/o a register and charge people extra money by robbing their pockets.... The managment at this place have no social skills and whoever heard of ""THE CUSTOMER IS NEVER RIGHT.... Hmmm! Sanai a/k/a Blue Ribbon has lost my business entirely. Ok PEOPLE OF JC MOVE ON TO THE NEXT GIG BECAUSE THIS PLACE AIN'T DOING IT FOR US ALL THEY KNOW WHAT TO DO IS ROB PEOPLE'S FOR THEIR HARDWORKING MONEY. I AM OUT AN ABOUT... THEY S*** IN MY BOOK.... ALL I CAN SAY IS ""WATCH OUT"" AND DO NOT HAVE A OPEN TAB THEY WILL OVER CHARGE YOU A LITTLE TOO MUCH DRINKS ON YOUR BILL, AS THEY THINK YOU ARE UNDER THE INFLUENCE..... It is such a great place to go, especially on a special occasion. I went with a group of co-workers on Wed. Feb. 22, 2012, noon time and the atmosphere, food and music was excellent. I had the catfish, & it's been a long time since I've tasted fish that good!. I recommend this place to the working class, its so nice to have a place nearby in Jersey City to go and enjoy on your lunch hour and after work. more

Whoot! The atmosphere is fantastic for the area. I was upstairs for The Murder Mystery Dinners and just have a blast. It's run by a former NBA player. Try the fish. more

This place is known in the neighborhood because of the crowd patronizing the place. Last week July 2011, shots were fired in front of the restaurant. My neighbors report having been propositioned as they walk by. Neighborhood is watching the place to prevent further violations to local regulations. more

This place does not deserve a rating considering what I'm going though now as a result of attending a party there but unfortunately I have to give it something to post my review. Cons: credit/debit card fraud, credit card machine not behind bar. more

Would not be a good place for mature people because of the young crowd and too many fights that break out. The food is no longer good since Mr. C the chef left. I would not recommend this place to any of my frinds. Pros: interior is beautiful Cons: too many young kids under drinking age more

Heard about this restaurant through one of my friends and decided to jump on the train and check it out. Fortunately its around the corner from the Path and once I got there the vibe and music were cool. It really captures that grown-up lounge atmosphere we look for after a long day at work. The food was pretty good too. I had the salmon and my friend had the ribs. I also heard they're going to start doing a weekly party there. I'll definitely come back!
