New Toddler Area is Great!! 12/13/2005

The new Toddler area at the San Antonio Zoo is really a great hands-on learning experience for kids. They have animals that are brought in for the kids to get an up close view of, they can feed the chickens, play in the pretend room (room with lots of hand-on pretend play toys, like a kitchen, mini zoo, etc), they can fish in the fishing pond (magnetic fish), crawl in tunnels like the pararie dogs do and so much more!! They have classes that you can sign your kids up for to get even more of a learning experience. A wonderful play place where they see & learn so much more. The rest of the zoo is great too with even more changes & updates being made. more

Nice zoo 11/30/2005

THis is a fantastic zoo! We love coming here. They have lots of animals to view, and the animals all look as though they are taken care of really well. The admission fee is super cheap AND you can even print off discount coupons off their website! You can print one for each member of your family, which is a super deal! They are open year round, which is also great! The zoo itself is clean as are the grounds. We like the petting zoo & feeding the fish! My kids love to make the little wax zoo creatures here, too! You can also bring your own snacks and drinks, which is an extra bonus! They have several eateries & snack places throughout the zoo, they aren't just located in one spot. more

San Antonio Zoo, What a Positive Change 9/22/2005

I recently went to the San Antonio Zoo to assist my daughter in a school project. I was pleasantly surprised with all of the improvements. The new kids section is great. I saw a lot of toddlers enjoying themselves. Some of the classics are still there from when I was a kid (i.e., animal plastic molds). more

Fun place for family's 9/20/2005

The San Antonio Zoo is a great place to spend the day with you family. They have alot of different breeds of animals to see. I would recommend going early in the day or in the evening in the summer because it can get hot! They have cool themed nights and fund raisers throught the year for families to enjoy like ZOO BOO for Halloween. more

Great Value 9/18/2005

The cost of admission is seven dollars for adults making this a great value for a family outing. The grounds and cages are clean and well cared for. They have a large number of exhibits so you can find your favorite, my kids like the lion. If you get hungry while you are there they have several snack shops and a couple of restaurants. As can be expected the food is a little expensive. more

Lots of fun! 9/14/2005

It's hard to go there during the summer in the Texas heat, but if you go either early in the morning or during the cooler times of the year, it's well worth it. They seemed to have finished up most of their construction and even have a special place for the younger kids to have fun and hang out with some air conditioning. My one complaint is how you can't take strollers in a lot of places, making it hard if you have several youngsters. more

In San Antonio-makes a great place to spend the day 8/29/2005

The San Antonio Zoo has been around for a long time, and they are making improvements all of the time. They have a huge variety of animals, and the park is beautiful. I would not recommend going in the summer, because of our Texas heat, but it is nice in the fall with the trees, and the breeze. The merry go round by the parking lot is great to get pictures of the kiddos on, and the price for admission is very affordable. There is plenty of parking too. more

Great fun a short ride away 8/19/2005

The San Antonio Zoo is only about an hour away from Austin, nestled in a quiet area of the city. The zoo is open 365 days a year, and has a carousel ride outside the zoo. There is alot of shade, and a huge variety of animals to see. The zoo is very clean, and the tickets are affordable. more
