When I was attending college on Oahu, I would fly back to Maui for just a few days. But Sam Sato's was one of the places I had to go and eat at regardless of how short my trip was...

Da Kine Local Food! 10/23/2008

This is where the locals go to eat. If you're looking for real hawaiian style food this is the place. Tucked into an industrial park, it's worth looking for. Get there early, because they're only open for breakfast and lunch. Know for their Saimin and dry noodles and everyone loves their Monju. more

Japanese Manju & Mochi 5/15/2004

Any Kamaaina or local resident visiting the Island of Maui will most likely be bringing back an""omiyage"" or gift back home from Sam's. Those white boxes you see passengers carrying on the plane is Japanese Mochi or Manju. Things may have slowed down a bit with Hawaii's first Krispy Kreme being located right next to the Airport. Nevertheless, if you intend on bringing home these Japanese desserts, please call in advance to reserve your box. Pros: Japanese Desserts, Speedy Service, Local Atmoshpere more
