bad operation, lie to customer, no responsible! 6/5/2011

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! REALLY BAD! NO MORAL! I PURCHASED A 3-DAY BUS TOUR PACKAGE FROM MARGARET, A MANAGER AT SAMHO, FOR TWO FAMILY MEMEBERS VISITING FROM KOREA. MY FAMILY MEMBERS BECAME VERY ILL JUST BEFORE THE SCHEDULED TRIP. SAMHO’S WEBSITE STATES A POLICY OF 100% REFUND WITH A DOCTOR’S NOTE. BUT WHEN I CONTACTED SAMHO TO ADVISE OF MY FAMILYS’ ILLNESS, I WAS ADVISED THAT IT WAS SAMHO’S POLICY TO REFUND ONLY 20%, INSTEAD OF THE 100% STATED ON THE WEBSITE (PLEASE SEE STANDARD TERMS AND CONDITIONS, SECTION 15, AS SET FORTH ON SAMHO WEBSITE). RATHER THAN LOSE 80% OF THE COST OF THE TRIP, MY ILL RELATIVES DECIDED TO MAKE THE TRIP. WE LATER LEARNED FROM ONE OF THE MANAGERS, YOUNG IM SHIN, THAT SAMHO KNEW BEFORE THE TOUR BEGAN THAT IT DID NOT HAVE AN AVAILABLE TOUR BUS FOR THE TRIP AND AS A RESULT THE INITIAL PART OF THE TRIP WOULD INVOLVE SEVERAL CHANGES OF BUSES AND DELAYS INCLUDING A 5-6 HOUR DELAY IN BARSTOW. THE TOUR WAS SO DISRUPTED THAT SEVERAL TOUR PASSESNGERS QUIT THE TRIP IN BARSTOW AND WERE RETURNED BY SAMHO TO LOS ANGELES, WITH A FULL REFUND. DURING THE LENGTHY DELAY IN BARSTOW THE TOUR GUIDE(WON SEON CHOI) PROMISED MY FAMILY THAT, BECAUSE OF THE DISRUPTIONS AND DELAYS, IF THEY CONTINUED THE TRIP THERE WOULD BE A 50% REFUND IF THEY FINISHED THE TRIP. UPON RETURN, WHEN I PHONED SAMHO AND SPOKE WITH YOUNG IM SHIN SHE REFUSED TO MAKE THE 50% REFUND AND HUNG UP ON ME. WHEN I THEN VISITED THE SAMHO OFFICE, I SPOKE WITH TWO MANAGERS (ONE OF THEM WAS DAE HUN KANG, SENIOR OPERATION MANAGER), WHO SAID A FULL REFUND WOULD BE PAID. HOWEVER, YOUNG IM SHIN THEN OVERRULED THE MANAGERS, REFUSED TO PAY ANY REFUND, AND ORDERED ME TO LEAVE THE SAMHO OFFICE. I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO RESOLVE THIS MATTER AMICABLY THROUGH NUMEROUS PHONE CALLS TO SAMHO. I ALSO VISITED SAMHO’S OFFICES WHILE MY FAMILY WAS STRANDED IN BARSTOW. DURING THE VISIT, A SAMHO MANAGER (DAE HUN KANG) ENCOURAGED ME TO HAVE MY FAMILY FINISH THE TRIP, AND DISCUSS A REFUND AFTER THE TRIP. WHEN I VISITED SAMHO’S OFFICE, INSTEAD OF MEETING WITH THEM, I WAS DIRECTED TO MEET YOUNG IM SHIN, WHO I BELIEVE IS A MANAGER OF SAMHO, AND SHE CLAIMED THAT SAMHO HAD NO RESPONSIBILITY. MS. SHIN TOLD ME TO LEAVE SAMHO’S OFFICES, YELLED AT ME IN FRONT OF STAFF AND OTHER CUSTOMERS, IN KOREAN CALLED ME THE WORD FOR “BITCH”, AND TOLD ME THAT IF I WAS UNHAPPY TO SUE SAMHO. RIGHT AFTER MY RELATIVES FINISHED THE TOUR, WE WENT TO THE SAMHO TOUR OFFICE AND DISCUSSED OUR COMPLAINTS WITH SENIOR MANAGERS IN SAMHO. THE SENIOR MANAGERS APOLOGIZED ABOUT THE INCIDENT AND EXPLAINED THAT WHAT THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE WAS RESCHEDULE THE TOUR OR MAKE A FULL REFUND AT THE BEGINNING OF THE TRIP. ALSO, THEY TOLD ME THAT SAMHO HAS IN THE PAST MADE FULL REFUNDS IN SITUATIONS LIKE THIS ONE AND PROMISED A FULL REFUND TO US. THE NEXT DAY, THEY SAID THAT THEY HAD SPOKEN WITH THE COMPANY OWNER AND THE ONLY REFUND THAT WOULD BE OFFERED IS A $100 GIFT CERTIFICATE TOWARD FUTURE TOURS WITH SAMHO. MY FAMILY DECLINED THIS OFFER BECAUSE IT WAS INADEQUATE AND BECAUSE WE HAD BEEN PROMISED A FULL REFUND. more

They Lie, Cheat and take advantage of naive people 12/22/2010

samho takes advantage of korean people who do not speak english and who do not know the ways of america. we paid over $15,000.00 ( a lot of money) for a group tour. due to adverse conditions weather, our group was able to fly to london, but all connecting flights out of london to barcelona were cancelled. that means we would have been stranded at the london airport for 2-3 days like the other tourists who had been stranded there for the last 4 days. i personally spoke directly with a british air rep who clearly told me, if we cancel since they could not connect us to barcelona, we would get a FULL REFUND. samho told everyone if we cancelled, we would lose the money and from the total we paid (almost $3000.00 per person) we would only receive 20% back. which means they would have pocketed the full refund they would have received from the airline on our behalf. samho also told everyone that once we are in london, they would have a bus ready that would take us to barcelona ( which could have taken 2-3 days due to the weather ) samho insisted that we all still go. or alternatively only get 20% of our money back. many people were concerned about the safety of traveling by bus in the snow and ice, but samho could not have cared less for our safety. samho preys on naive korean people who are either just visiting the us or who do not speak english. these people just believe what they are told by samho. Wonderful bus tour guide to the Grand Canyon 9/1/2007

My mother and I went on a trip for 5 days and 6 nights by Samho tours. We traveled by bus from Los Angeles to Solvang, Monterey, Pebble beach, San Francisco, Yosemite, Fresno, Barstow, Laughlin, the Grand Canyon, Page, Bryce Canyon, the Giant Canyon, and Las Vegas. It was a long and exhausting trip, but absolutely beautiful. I give Samho tours high ratings. Except for the food on the first two days of our trip, they did an excellent job. They only spoke in Korean, but I understood them for the most part with the help of my mother who translated a few difficult vocabulary words. The tour guide was funny and easy to listen to. All of our meals were included in the package, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We slept at good hotels and inns. The beds were comfortable and clean. In some of the inns, the bathrooms were a bit small and the bathtubs slippery, but they served their purpose well. I think my mother and I both gained about 5 pounds each on the trip. We had a good time and some laughs as well. I highly recommend Samho tours to Korean speakers. Pros: All meals are provided for and the hotels are taken care of. Cons: Bad food on the first two days of trip and long drives with pit stops that have long lines. more
