I just felt like stopping by the Salvation Army Store today on my way home from walking. It's right on the way so no extra miles driven. Was I ever glad I did. Todays special, buy one article of clothing and get one of equal or less value free. I immediately spied a jeans style jacket in a black and white Frenchie looking print and it was my size, 4.99. The free item was a red sleeveless top with a deep v neck and a nice knit, also 4.99. Naturally I didn't stop there because I found a deep purple top with sort of flowing ,over the elbo sleeves and a deep v neck and a long looser fit. Of course 4.99. Gee whiz I had to find a freebie to go with that. After hunting for about 10 more minutes I found a printed blue denim sleeveless close fitting top, 4.99. For 9.98 I purchased 4 almost new garments. One of the good things to remember is that the Salvation Army Store is a non profit organization and therefore does not charge state sales tax. The store on the Coralville Strip has a good selection of clothing, linens, furniture and bric brac at very reasonable prices. The sale items are always great. Last year when I was in there browsing I spotted a hot pink sleeveless dress with jacket from the Dress Barn and it was brand new. Dresses were on sale for 1.00 that day so I bought it. I have it on in my picture with my son and granddaughter at her wedding in the Colorado mountains.
