Not having been to this one-time seattle instituion for years, I decided to take some out of town guests here before the tour. Seems as if good ol' Salty's has fallen on hard tim...

Service is erratic 5/24/2005

Perhaps it's just a phenomenon of happy hour, but the last few times we have visited Salty's on a sunny day the service was terrible. There were not a lot of customers during those times, but somehow it was too hard for our servers to get to the bar to pick up our cold beers before they got warm. Once our beers ran out, the server smiled and walked right by us without offering to get us some more. We tried to wave her down several times, but she never thought to look in our direction. There were errors in our bill. There are a lot of other sun decks in town with much greater service that we are beginning to consider. more

Great Experiences 5/17/2005

I have had the pleasure of dining at Salty's several times - and each time I have not only had outstanding service - but the food was amazing! Fresh, fresh, fresh! My last visit was on a VERY busy night - but the food and service did not disappoint. It's as if my guests and I were the only ones in the restaurant. I have dined at some of the city's most fabulous, swanky new restaurants, and I can say that Salty's ranks right up there with them. I do understand the crowds. The place does get packed. But there is a bar - and a great patio - which can take the edge off the wait. Pros: View, Service, Food/Wine more

Seafood 4/25/2005

I happen to agree with some of the reviews that\r Salty's is perhaps the most overpriced restaurant\r in Seattle. The view is what you pay for. But\r on the other hand, their Sunday brunch is\r worth the run, view or no view, its still very\r good. more

When you think of fish & chips you usually don't think of valet parking or top notch service but Saltys has all that and more. Besides the vast selection of expensive wines & fish the decor inviting & pleasant .So if you love fish and chips but need the enviroment of a four star restaurant to eat it Saltys is for you. more

Good view good food 4/13/2005

Steep steep prices. If you got a c-note burning a hole in your pocket and your lexus is clean this is your spot. This is a great place to take anyone from out of town if they want to enjoy two of Salty's greatest assets. Its food and the view. They made a bad choice in thier art selection out front but it does not detract from the everything else that makes this place great. more

Another great place to eat if you have the cash and time. There are two Salty's one in Redondo and the one on Alki. The one on Alki offers one of the best dinings views of downtown. The prices are very steep but the ambiance is world class. Try the seafood it is fresh from the local markets. The bar is also nice. more
