Monica is heaven sent! I made a HUGE mistake and was impatient and got my haircut at a cheap chop shop place....and MONICA SAVED THE DAY! She fixed my hair above and beyond what I thought was possible, after crying all day because of a bad haircut, I left with a HUGE SMILE on my face and walked out with confidence that my hair looked AMAZING! I will NEVER be impatient again! Strangers were giving me compliments on my haircut.....and I refer everyone I know to Monica. Monica also has a heart of gold, she made a generous donation to my March of Dimes Charity! She also has on of the best personalities..she listens, and works her magic...cant wait to get my hair cut again! more

I have been a client of Monica's for over 3 years and I couldn't be happier! I see Monica for my hair cut and lip wax. I have my own business and want to look clean and professional. Monica is great at listening to what I want and making it happen. I have gotten the best hair cuts of my life from her. I have also tried numerous places for a lip wax and it was always painful and my lip would break out UNTIL I met Monica. Now that I am able to wax that Italian female mustache I feel much more confident in my appearance :) Along with being amazing at what she does Monica has great customer service and will make you feel very comfortable. more

I found Salon Joseph through Citysearch - what drew me to them is the fact they are open hours besides your standard 9-5. Hello - If EVERYONE works bank hours, how does anyone get anything done? I lived in Seattle at the time, and Queen Anne wasn't very far.. Did it matter? Not one bit. Since I've started seeing Monica for my hair, I've lived as far away as Olympia and I still truck back up the hill to see her. Monica is absolutely the best. She's completely sweet and down-to-earth and not fake or obnoxious like the 5,000 other stylists I've ever been to. For one thing, she'll actually listen to what it is you want and she'll give you an honest opinion. She's great at what she does and I always look forward to seeing her.. so does my hair!! more

I don't write reviews all that often, but I really make it a point when I feel as though NOT passing the information along is a crying shame. This is one of those instances. I have been a client of Monica's for 5 years. She consistently over delivers on every aspect of my salon experience. From color to cut to styling she is a shining star. Not to mention her customer service. She consistently goes above and beyond. I have referred several people to her, often stemming from a random person stopping me on the street asking "Who does your hair?" Monica!! Enough said. more

I can't say enough about Monica. She is a star. I trust her to make me look fabulous every time. Whenever I want to try something new, she's game. I often get compliments on my hair and I always say, "That's Monica!" I've been her client for three years now and I'm not going anywhere else. Give her a try. You'll be thrilled. more

I have been going to Joseph for over 5 years, and I will never trust anyone else with my hair the way I do Joseph. Joseph has truly given my hair a life of its own. People who don't know me comment, "nice haircut" when I walk by, or come up to me specifically to tell me how much they love my haircut, and/or its color. I know my hair has alot of quirks and is not easy to cut, but you'd never know that, because when I leave Joseph's hands, my hair truly looks like it is my crown. Anne is the best stylist, and i think what makes her really special is that she really listens to what you ask for! and does a FAB job! I am an extremely picky blonde and Monica has always cut my hair short and long and dyed it blonde to red and it always looks great. Never have I left an appointment unsatisfied. I have been going to her for years and I don't know what I'd do if she ever leaves :) more

Just got back from another great visit with Anne- she is an awesome stylist, and i think what makes her really special is that she really listens to you, what you want, and does a FAB job! Salon Joseph has a very professional atmosphere and the staff is friendly and welcoming. Jonathan is always up-to-date on the latest tips and trends and uses his own creativity to create unique looks for me that are different then the same old look everyone else is wearing. He is also great with kids, as he recently did foils in my 10 year old daughters hair and made her feel like a princess! Thank you Salon Joseph for the haircut and coloring. Kaisha did my hair and she did a great job. The rest of the stylists are also very friendly and offered me something to drink. The atmosphere is comfortable and I like the decor. Joseph's intern gives free haircuts to the kids that live at Seattle Children's Home and we appreciate it! I felt pampered. I've been going to Salon J for over 13 years and I have never been disappointed. A very comfortable salon and you can feel good no matter who cuts your hair. Joseph the owner is a master, does an amazing job on my hair. I can't imagine going anywhere else - worth the drive to go to the top of QA! I love this salon. You not only connect with the stylist doing your hair, but you tend to develop a relationship with everyone there. I have found myself in a conversation among chairs of customers and stylists.. It is an amazing salon full of extremely talented and friendly stylists... I can say this because I have been going to Salon Joseph for about 12 years now. Even when my stylist is on vacation, I have found that I can count on anyone else to give me the same style and cut I get from regular guy.. I love this place.. more

Joseph has raised his prices twice in one year. He now costs $85.00. I come in and he is either on the phone or on the computer. The time before he decided to eat lunch at my appointed time. He is never ready for me. I get nothing special for my $85.00-no head massage, no deep conditioning treatment. I also did not like the fact that Joseph collected my money when I went to leave because then I felt I had to leave him a tip. Mary Ellen placated me nicely when I called to complain. I am not buying it. I think Joseph has gotten greedy and has forgotten that his roots lie in old time clients like me. more

I have to admit, I always have reservations trying out new salons. I am one of those people that has to go in twice: the first time to get what I want, and the second time to correct what I didn't want. At Salon Joseph you will only need to go in once and come out looking better than what you could have ever imagined. The salon is small but classy, which I like because the regulars are all known by name, and the newbies are warmly welcomed and remembered. Heather did a GREAT cut and color, she was sure to listen to what I wanted, but also had suggestions about style and color that turned out beautifully. The hairdressers really care about your expectations, and if they feel unsure about a certain color tone etc, they won't hesitate to ask another expert in the salon--making sure that you will get the best quality for your money. It is a little pricey, but no more than some of the big name salon's that are less consistant. You certainly get what you pay for in addition to a friendly atmosphere and a great look. Trust me, go to Salon Joseph and you will become a regular: but don't schedule Heather too much, she's my new favorite hairdresser in Seattle and I want to make sure I get an appointment again! Anne Drury is my favorite stylist! Her elegance, sense of style and versatility is awe inspiring. She has a gift for creating the perfect cut and color to work with your own unique style. I've watched her work her magic on edgy students, hip professionals, conservative business professionals, seniors, children and men. Curly or straight-you can feel at ease in her chair. She listens to your needs and if you need guidance, you can rely on her to find something that will be perfect for you! She's down to earth and a gift to the salon. I have been going to Joseph at Salon Joseph for close to 15 years. It's hard to find someone that really knows how to work with curly hair - Joseph is a pro. He's always open to ideas and also has great ideas of his own. Joseph is a perfectionist. He takes his time to do things right - and over the years has used lots of little tricks to control the wave, curl and frizz. When my daughter got married, Joseph came to the hotel and did my hair as well as those of most of the wedding party. Plus - he's really a great guy. The salon itself is very comfortable - the colors are warm and inviting and a relaxing place to spend your hours each month. I don't live very close to Queen Anne, where this salon is located but it's worth every mile to get there. more
