No better place 7/28/2009

I have been going to Salon Gity since 2007, and there is no better place. My hair was in bad shape and Yvette has taken my hair to another level it is much healthier. My prior salon was in Montrose and was not "all that" and very costly. Yvette is excellent with cuts and color Great job Pros: Service, outcome, creative staff Cons: NONE !!! more

THEY TRY TO SELL YOU ON ALL THEIR SERVICES AND WHEN YOU ARE NOT SATISFIED THEY DON'T EVEN TRY TO WORK WITH YOU TO COME TO A RESOLUTION - I SPOKE TO THE MANAGER ABOUT CORRECTING A MISTAKE THE TECHNICIAN MADE AND SHE YELLED AT ME AND SAID I WAS LYING TO HER AND I WAS MAKING IT UP. HORRIBLE SALON - DON'T GET YOUR EYELASHES DONE FROM HERE 7/21/2009

I WENT HERE LAST SUMMER TO GET EYELASH EXTENSIONS FOR THE FIRST TIME. THE LADY THERE BARELY SPENT AN HOUR ON ME FOR A FULL SET (THEY NORMALLY TAKE 2 HOURS TO PUT ON A FULL SET AT A REAL SALON) NOT ONLY THAT SHE PUT REALLY HEAVY LASHES ON MY REAL ONES AND PUT 2-3 ON EACH INDIVIDUAL ONE (WHICH YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO DO - IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE 1 FAKE EYELASH PER 1 REAL EYELASH) THE NEXT DAY MY EYELIDS WERE SORE AND THE EYELASHES DIDNT EVEN STAY ON. WHEN I CALLED THE MANAGER SHE COULDN'T EVEN ADMIT THAT HER TECHNICIAN HAD NO IDEA WHAT SHE IS DOING. DON'T GET YOUR EYELASHES DONE FROM HERE THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE DOING. Great salon! 2/9/2009

I took a chance after reading reviews and scheduled an appointment at this Salon. I assumed it was family-friendly and it's not family-hostile, but it was a stretch to have my 3 and 5yo with me. The staff was extremely accommodating and Shelly assured me that it was fine that my kids were with me. It made me a little uncomfortable that I could not see them from her cubicle, but they were welcome to come back if they needed me and they had activities to keep them busy in a little lounge area. I felt pampered but not uncomfortably so - drinks and snacks were offered. Not too posh - just nice and comfortablr.Shelly was fun and just talkative enough. She listened to my ideas and did a great job on my cut. I'm going back tomorrow (5 weeks later for a touch-up.) more

Not worth the money and the reviews were wrong! 1/11/2009

I went here before Christmas and used the 20% coupon from online. I thought it would be good bc all the reviews. Wrong, they only probable get customers bc of the reviews, i bet most people dont come back. I got my hair cut, low lite and high lite by Valerie. I was setup by the receptionist over the phone with a oriental man that was 60 yrs old. He did not seem fashion hip at all and when i said something they put me with Valerie, she rushed and seemed frustrated. I overall thought i paid way to much for a mediocre color and cut. nothing was great or special. i would not come back. Sorry i wish it went better. I felt fooled by the reviews. Pros: looked somewhat nice, they offered drinks Cons: to pricey, staff not friendly, staff were gossiping way to much in front of me. more

Great Color Correction! 12/16/2008

I went in to the Salon Gity for the first time today to have a color correction. I had my hair done at another salon on Saturday and was extremely upset with the results. The staff at Salon Gity was very helpful and friendly and I was helped right away. I highly recommend Salon Gity and the stylist Valerie. Valerie explained every option for fixing my hair and let me decide what was best for me instead of pushing me in another direction. I was so happy with the results that I booked another appointment with her before I left the salon! more

Avoid Rising Star 8/15/2008

Had a Rising Star do my sister in law's straight perm and trim. Was terrible. Had a blotch of burnt or dried hair. Trim was choppy. more

I am a returnging client & for a GOOD reason. The whole staff is SOOO friendly, the prices are VERY reasonable and the atmosphere is just fun! It is always hopping & I can see why. Are you kidding me? 6/19/2008

Do not go here. My highlights were started at least a 1/2" from my scalp, entire underside was not highlighted (though I asked for it to be), color was splotchy, cut was choppy and uneven (when it was meant to be soft and even), highlights took over an hour to foil....too much wrong with this place. Yes, the prices are reasonable, but you are definitely getting what you pay for. Trust me, spend the extra money on yourself and go somewhere else!! more

I LOVE going to Gity's! I always get complements about my hair. Customer service is the best, everyone is friendly, and experienced. I have been going there for about 4 years now. Ana is my stylist and she is the best! She always keeps me up with the latest trends. If you want to treat yourself to an extravagant fashion make-over that is the place to go! They have everything hair, Make-up, eye-brows, and more! I wouldn't and don't go anywhere else. You will feel like a model once they are done pampering you. I have been looking for a place to get my hair done since I moved to Sugar Land. I will recommend Salon Gity to anyone who ask's about my hair. Great Haircut, Nice Atmosphere, Friendly Staff 5/8/2008

Would definitely recommend this salon. I usually go to a stylist located in downtown Houston but wanted to find someone closer to home. Based on reviews from this site, scheduled a cut and style with Valerie. I was very pleased. Pleasant atmosphere, very friendly staff, and not snooty. When I arrived, Valerie gave me a tour of the salon outlining all the services they offer, we sat & discussed my hair and what kind of cut I wanted, she made me feel very comfortable. She listened and cut my hair exactly the way I expected. It looks great! Valerie also appears to be very knowlegable about color, we discussed options and I may try some color on my next visit. Great hair cut 4/8/2008

Just got my hair cut there from Shelly. I have curly hair and it was drab and weighted down. I have gone to other salons and asked for this to be done - with dissapointment. But Shelly made my hair curly again!! She was very good and explained everything she was going to do. Everyone else was very nice also. I will be going back there for my next cut. I will also have to try out their coloring. more

Salon Gity is great 4/7/2008

Valerie has been doing my hair for over a year now. I was new to Sugar Land last summer and needed some hair help. I walked into the shop and got right in, and just cant say enough nice things. They have done PM Shines, cuts, conditioning treatments, color and of course their great Paul Mitchell products. I am always getting compliments after I leave. I refuse to trust my hair to anyone else, well except myself on occasion. But rest assured they will take good care of you. Thanks Valerie- Theresa F. Pros: Great Salon, great service! I went in today because of the great reviews i saw on here and had to come back and agree. Valerie was so great, she listened to exactly what i wanted and my hair came out amazing! Bad experience 2/26/2008

I went to Salon Gitty because of the god reviews I saw here. However, my experience was not as good. I took my daughter there for a straightner. Her hair is very curly and we decided to do it on the rroot only since we did nto want to touch the rest of her hair.. Even though, Ana was very good with us and explained everything to me, she seemed not to have enough expericience on doing this. I bought all the products they recommended to take care of my daughter hair. But, after a week, we found out, her "roots straightner" did not work, her roots were all "puffy" and we did not see any chance on her hair. I tried to wait to see if it was going to change, but since nothing happened I decided to call them and they said they were going to "try to do somehting" but still I have to pay again at least half of the price!!! I got very dissappointed because I thought they should have tried to do something without charging me. They lost me and my daughter as clients. I thought they have customer service there....... but I was wrong more
