jessica has been doing my hair for many years now. i had been elsewhere and didn't realize i had only been scratching the surface as to how amazing my hair could look and how manageable it could be. prior to seeing her, there were days i would wake up convinced my hair was suicidal. she has always taken the time to listen and consider. she incorporates my lifestyle-my hair's texture and tendencies, my style and what i have for time. she offers recommendations without pressure. her work intertwines attention to detail with a true passion for what she does. i receive endless compliments on my hair on a regular basis, long after i've left the stylist's chair. there is something to be said for that. she is warm and genuinely personable-something that tends to be very rare within this industry. she takes the time. jessica is truly the best of the best. Candice is the Stylist to see! 2/18/2007

I love this new salon! I took a chance at trying a new stylist due to the fact that I was simply bored with the run of the mill hairdressers in my area. Candice exceeded all my expectations with her brilliant foiling and haircutting skills! my previously dull ashy blonde hair is now GLAMOROUS, vibrant, and full of life! She kept my locks long while still taking off the right amount to make it feel healthy. Also, she is so funny. Candice made me feel comfortable and made me laugh and gave me the best haircut/color EVER. I have already booked my next appt. and I am bringing in my friends too. Pros: Candice more

Beauty is Fringe - Thank you Jessica 2/15/2007

A few weeks ago I visited this salon with a very good (picky) girlfriend of myne. She was going on and on about her horror stories with other salons and that she had just about had it! She had made an appointment with a stylist named Jessica so we hoped for the best! We were greeted so warmly and dignified - unlike many of the stuffy salons that some of my friends work at downtown. The decor was beautiful and pristine. As we waited, we relaxed and enjoyed an espresso that was given to us - very nice. When my friend emerged from the cutting chair I have never seen her look more georgeous!!! So, thank you Fringe, thank you Jessica - I do not have to listen to her complain anymore!! Happy House Wife!!! 1/2/2007

I have been to all the salons in the area and then I found Fringe. Extremely warm and inviting people greeted me at the door and got me a espresso. I was worried b/c every other salon I have been to didn't meet my expectations but my consultation with owner Gary assured me that I was in good hands. He truly has the hands of GOD! My cut and color turned out better than I ever imagined. Gary spent a lot of time talking me through the whole process (which made me feel comfortable) and even recommended different ideas for my hair that I never thought of. I have since made a follow-up appointment for me and my daughter! I will be sure to tell all my friends. I'm so excited to have a talent of Newbury St in my own neighborhood! more

Antoinette 8/22/2006

Antoinette is a great hair stylist. When she does my hair i love it because after it is done i look like a new person. She is very friendly and someone you can actully have a conversation with while she is doing your hair. I have been going to Antoinette for for about 5 years. She does hair great and beleive me she can fix your hair. No matter how bad it looks she can fix it or if you judt want a new look she is the person to go to. Pros: service, look, cleanliness more

Sheilah is your new stylist 6/18/2005

Ever go home crying and angry from a hair style that was not expected? It happens, but ""it's only hair"" as Sheilah put it, ""and I can fix it"". And that she did. Sheilah is both professional and down to earth, but most importantly very creative and experienced. The Salon is trendy and aesthetically appealing although I would have preferred to look at something else as my hair was being washed and the secretarial staff needs a few pointers on customer service. First impressions are lasting impressions. Sheilah is a HUGE asset. Thanks for everything. more

Antoinette Albano saved my hair 11/9/2004

I went in to see Antionette because I had completely ruined my hair bleaching it way too many times. I thought it was unfixible and they'd have to cut it all off. When I left the salon, she had worked magic and not only was it ""fixed"", from yellow-orange straw to soft brown with subtle highlights, but no one could tell that I had bleached it before! I've stayed ever since and have recommended Antionette to all my friends who love her, too. more

Loved my hair! 8/2/2004

Lisa did my hair exactly how I wanted it done. Many others have messed it up as I have black hair and natural looking highlights aren't an easy thing to create. I also loved my cut she really took her time, did a great job and listened to what I wanted. I would definitely recommend seeing Lisa! more

Awesome! 6/26/2004

I had my hair done by Gary...he is the best! I had a hard time letting anyone do my hair, cutting or coloring. Gary colored my hair exactly how I pictured it! First I expressed what I was after. Gary then explained how it would look and how many colors he would use, etc. I am so happy with the end results. Its incredible. I did not have my hair cut there, though. But I give this place a 10! You guys have a VERY hap, hap, happy customer! Pros: knowledge, friendly, 100% awesome more

Cristina saved my hair! 4/15/2004

I had a short frizzled hair quite hard to handle, until I found Cristina. She has done an awasome work on my hair! I am extremely happy with her skills, the difference in my hair now is phenomenal. I certainly recommend her services to anyone seaching for a talented professional. Furthermore, her charisma and way to treat people caused a great impression on me. more

TO ALL BRIDES TO BE 3/22/2004

After a very discouraging search thru out newbury st. I came to find out that trying to find someone that listens was impossible. Well there is hope! Girls, I found these girl Christina and talk about professionalism, enthusiasm and creativity. I am getting married this May and her and I after a couple of trials we found the perfect style for my hair, she is doing my entire wedding party and she is coming to the Hotel(in such short notice) so I don't have to worry about nothing, not only that she is one of the best colorists and has given me and my sister a total hair make over....thank you Pros: creative, trendy salon, best colorist Cons: , hard to find more

I was extremely impressed with the service I received at Jerel Roberts, particulary from master stylist Antoinette Albano. Her skills are phenomenal, I sware my hair has never looked this good in my entire life. I would highly encourage anyone who wants to take a chance with a new stylist to go and see Antoinette. I AM NOT ONE TO SPEND AND ARM AND A LEG AT A NEWBURY STREET SALON BUT THIS WAS DEFINITELY WORTH IT.I RESCENTLY VISITED THIS SALON AFTER READING THE REVIEWS ON THIS SITE.MY STYLIST ANTOINETTE WAS JUST WHAT I HAD BEEN LOOKING FOR ALL THESE YEARS.I HAD BEEN STRUGGLING WITH DRY CURLY FRIZZY HAIR AND THIS GIRL WORKED WONDERS SHE GAVE ME A CUT THAT IS MANAGEABLE AND TRENDY AND USED A PRODUCT TO TAME AND DEMINISHED MY CURLS.FOR YEARS I WOULD ASK FOR A CURE LIKE THIS AND NO ONE HAD THE ANSWER.THIS STYLIST KNEW JUST WHAT TO DO.I FOUND THE PEOPLE WORKING THERE TO BE EXTREMELY PLEASANT AND THE OWNER HAS AN UNBELIEVABLE PROFESSIONALISM TO HIMSELF.THE SERVICE WAS ON TIME AND THE ATMOSPHERE WAS VERY RELAXING.THE BEST PART ABOUT THIS SALON IS THAT THEY ALL WORK AS A TEAM TO CREATE THE LOOK YOU DESIRE. not that good 12/21/2002

The hair salon has a little rock punk kind of style to it. The service was good; environment and decoration was ok. I've only been there once. The skill of the stylist I had was ok. It wasn't worth the money I paid. (I've had better with the same price.) However, this doesn't apply to the entire hair salon. It really depends on the individual stylist. more

Not what I expected 7/7/2002

I read the reviews on this site and decided to go for a change in my color and a new cut. The salon was nicely decorated and the employees were fine but I was not happy with the result. I told the stylist I wanted to be a little more blonde with a more up to date cut. I felt like I walked out with a brass helmet. I think the girl who did my hair tried her best but we had very different ideas. more
