"Is this a joke?" 12/2/2010

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I had never been to this place before, but after reading some decent reviews, I decided to give it a try. I'm also a student, so their cheaper prices definitely caught my attention. I decided to call ahead to make an appointment: my first call was at 10:53am. "Cathy" answered, and sounded genuinely pleased about the call. Later, at 12:38pm, I called them again to add another appointment for my friend, who also wanted to get her hair cut. This time a man answered, and after getting I got this information across, he told me: "Yeah, just come whenever you're free." This set me back a bit; does this salon not usually get very many customers? Is that why their hair stylists are always open?? A few minutes later, I realized that there was no point in waiting until 5:30pm to get our haircuts, when my friend and I were both free at that time for a couple of hours, and all we both wanted was just a simple trim. I called again, at 12:41pm, and this is how our conversation progressed ("Cathy" answered again): Her: "Salon G, how may I help you?" Me: "Hi, I have an appointment later today at 5:30, but--" Her: "Is this a joke?" Me: ".......Excuse me?" Her: "Is this a joke? You've called, like, five times already today." **Long pause** Me: "...No, this is not a joke. I was planning on getting my hair cut tonight, and was wondering if you would actually be able to see me now. But, never mind..." Her: **Hangs up the phone.** I legitimately stared at my phone in disbelief for five minutes after that conversation was abruptly ended. I would never trust these people with my hair, and neither should you... Although I realize I may have called an excessive amount (THREE TIMES), she provided extremely poor customer service, and unreasonably jumped to conclusions. I never did end up getting my hair cut here - that 27-second conversation deterred me from ever having anything to do with this place again. There are DEFINITELY better hair salons in the area. STAY AWAY. more

Salon G 3/20/2006

This place is TERRIBLE. I have never gotten such a bad haircut in my life; for the life of me, please don't go here. For background: I went to this 'salon' for a very, very simple haircut at a decently cheap price ($25)... the woman there (I forget her name) sat me down and started chopping away at my hair indiscriminately. I remember thinking to myself, "wow, either she is *really* good and knows her stuff, or this haircut is going to look like crap." It was the latter. I can't explain how ridiculously terrible the cut was... my right and left side were off by over an *inch*, and the 'layers' she gave me were backwards (longer in the front!) and choppy (rather than smooth). I had to wait a few weeks for my hair to grow back and then get my hair redone at a different, more expensive place. As a side note - I was complaining about this place to my friend about a week later, and some woman overheard me: "Salon G?" she asked? "Yes!" I responded. "Yeah - that woman cut my daughter's hair and it was terrible. I had to go back and have her redo it." Don't go to this place!! more
