Happy Customer 2/7/2012

I had my fence installed just before Christmas, I am very happy with the outcome. The fence didn't move at all in the recent storms, which seemed to happen right over my house. Installation started within a week of signing the contract. I have a big garden, but the project was done in three days. The fence looks great. A couple of pickets split after installation and their quality control department had this fixed within 24 hours. I couldn't be happier with the result. The people I worked with were great. I highly recommend this company. more

No lasting quality in wood fencing, very disappointed custom 1/12/2010

I purchased a brand new DR Horton house in the Wild Horse subdivision that had Quality Fence & Welding do all of their fencing. They left their sign on each fence as evidence. From what I can see from their wood picket fences is that they do not know anything about quality wood fencing. This is what they used to construct my fence and every fence in my subdivision. 1. they use the 2X3 boards to construct all pine picket fencing (pine is used for all fences that are not facing the roads) they did use three rails to support them at least since pine bows and twists like crazy in the elements (treated is better). This leads me to believe that many of their rails are not treated since I see so many of the rails in my subdivision have bowed over 4 inch from being straight. 2. they used at most 10# worth of concrete to secure their posts. I removed their fence completely from my yard and found that almost half of the post did not have any concrete attached to the post; I just pushed the post side to side and pulled them up by hand! This explains why some of my neighbor?s fences have blown down during windy days. FYI concrete should rap all the way around the post and around 40-60# of concrete should be used. Concrete is cheap you know? 3. they used 2?X4?X8? for most of the rails and sometimes used longer boards between each post. FYI, you should used 5/4X6 treated decking or 2X6 tread lumber as rails to resist sagging. Rails should be 16 feet long and have their joints staggered at 8? intervals so that the fence will have a better chance of staying straight. 4. the 4X4 posts they used are only 7 feet tall with only 16-18? of that being in the ground. They also only used 1-2 nails on each side of the rails, lol! FYI, use galvanized steel posts if you can, either way you need an 8 foot post with 24-30? in the ground. Quality is not what I saw and from what I saw on my purchase sheet for the house, I did not get what I paid for. At least it was easy to get rid of. Pros: looked ok from a distance for a few months Cons: fell apart quickly more
