Not a great Vegas restaurant 1/5/2009

I was excited to try out this restaurant, but was disappointed from the first round of drinks. Drinks were weak (had a margarita on the rocks, and one of the ""specialty"" mixed drinks), and food portions were small; the sushi rolls were the tiniest I've ever seen. Waitress was nice though. Completely overpriced. If you get your kicks spending $200 and up on sake, this is your place. Otherwise, there are so many better places in Vegas to eat.... Pros: sake sommelier Cons: prices, portions more

Best Fusion of Cuisines on the Strip 10/27/2008

A fantastic mix of South American and Japanese cuisine! Sushisamba has a great atmosphere and even better food. I had actually stumbled across it by accident when I was shopping in the Palazzo and I'm glad I did. I went back again that same weekend! Pros: Service, Food, Decor. more

Great overall experience! Interesting cuisine... 10/24/2008

I am a longtime las vegas local who likes to keep up on anything new (Esp yummy food) that opens around town,.. I was curious about Sushi Samba because I had heard of the one in new york. I didnt know what to expect and ended up having a great meal. We took some suggestions from our waitress because we were unfamiliar with a lot of things, and what we got was all wonderful! The glazed sea bass skewers were to die for, and the corn, the taquitos, and also the creative stuff they did with sashimi was aweseom. We got this raw yellowtail thing with pepper and a lemongrass sauce..yummmm... ...Oh ya it is like south american food and japanese mixed...... more

The Worst Place to eat Sushisamba 10/19/2008

My husband and I visit Las Vegas in Aug 27- 30, and eat at Sushisamba the first day. This is the WORST food restaurant in Las Vegas. Let?s start with the waiter, who asked us if this was our 1st time at Sushisamba and that he will order our food for us. Cons: Do not go inside of Sushisamba more

DONT JUST WALK RUN AWAY 10/2/2008

I love fine dining but Sushi Samba by far is the WORST restaurant I have ever been to. Once seated it took literally 2 hours for all of our food to come out. Once we opted to order cocktails rather than the suggested $180 bottle of sake the service went drastically downhill. Even with a $240 bill the server neglected to attend to our table. The sashimi platter was beautifully presented however i threw it all up. The brazilian bbq was overcooked and slightly dry. Don't bother trying their dipping sauces for the bbq unless you can supress your gagging reflexes. Unless you would like to be served a platter of sickness followed by extremely poor service and a 2 hour wait you're better off dining at Yellowtail instead or many of the other fine dining options vegas has to offer. Pros: NONE AT ALL Cons: QUALITY OF FOOD, POOR SERVICE, WAIT TIME FOR FOOD TO COME OUT more

Horrible Food, Great Drinks 9/26/2008

Was just there a week ago and it was, unfortunately, a bad culinary experience. The restaurant has a great party feel to it and the drinks are delicious...definitely not skimpy on the alcohol! It all went down hill once we were seated for dinner...service was awful and the food was terribly bland. A couple of our dishes were never brought to us and it took almost 45 minutes to get another round of drinks. Waiter was completely checked out and was more interested it socializing than taking care of his tables. I travel/dine out regularly and this was, by far, the worst meal i have ever had. Pros: Great drinks Cons: Horrible food! Focus on the flavor of the food if you are a restaurant!!! more

Great Food, Even Better Drinks! 9/18/2008

I've had a chance to go here a couple times, and I keep coming back. The food is really good, but the drinks are even better! I took some friends from out of town here the other night, and we all had an amazing time drinking TY KU and soda the whole night (at least what i remember of it - haha). Definitely going back this weekend for their official grand opening party! more

Pass on Sushi Samba or just visit for lunch 8/21/2008

I was hesitant to visit Sushi Samba after I heard that the one in Dallas closed down last month, but I went anyway. more

hot! and amazing design 8/20/2008

I went for the opening night and Sugarcane is HOT! I love the design, the dancers aren't like at other clubs. The girls dress harakuju style and have funk. The cocktails are delicious and it's a completely different experience than all the other clubs and lounges in Las Vegas. I would definitely recommend going and suggest having dinner at SUSHISAMBA before! Pros: not over priced, unique, intimate, great service Cons: not open every night of the week, but check it out wednesday - saturday! more

Warning 8/13/2008

WARNING- Wall Video not for kids. Service was good--- Food outstanding--Sake girl talk too much "" a sort of used car salesmen. Managers looked tired and I guess the owner looked mad. The server told us his name Shamon or shimon , she mentioned he never smiles and always mad. more

Great Food -- Fantastic Party Atmosphere 8/3/2008

The food was exotic and excellent. A must go to in Vegas. Some of the best sushi and drinks around. Try the Samabatini. It is a real party atmosphere, so it is loud with videos playing. Enjoyed it much more then Tao, Nobu, or Social House. more

Owner=thumbs down 7/31/2008

SUSHISAMBA was not all great like I was thinking it was going to be. Our server was nice. The busser was nice. The hostesses were hospitable. The food was, okay. It took an HOUR for it to come out. We know it was busy but they need to be quicker. We spoke to a guy who said was the ""owner"" and he didn't do ANYTHING. From that impression, he must think he's too good to help out his employees. The videos are seriously DISTURBING. I was not enjoying my dinner watching those. If I EVER go back, I'll request to sit somewhere that is not facing the videos and I'll make sure not to bring anyone that is 17 and under. WARNING to all those that have children, DON'T BRING THEM!!!!!!!!!! they serve ""family""-style but not a family-oriented place. Pros: Great hospitality from Employees Cons: no hospitality from ""owner"" more

BEst Sushi and Club on the Strip 7/28/2008

Beeing a native new yorker and avid Las Vegas visitor I just had to try the new Sushi Samba when I heard about their recent opening. Having been to many restaurants on the strip I have to say Sushi Samba beats them all, better and fresher than even Social House at TI and Nobu at the Hard Rock. The atmosphere was pure decadence as only Las Vegas can accomplish. The food and drinks provided the perfect start to the night. At the end of dinner my entourage ventured to Sugarcane and let me tell you its the newest and hippest spot on the strip. Revolution, Tao, Tryst, and Pure all better lookout because there's a new and better nightspot. Pros: Ambiance, Food, Drinks, and Nightclub all in one Cons: none...perfect place more

Hungry32 review???????????????? 7/23/2008

Where did you eat? It wasn't SushiSamba. I ordered the seafood platter, and the crab legs were the biggest I've ever seen, and the prawns were a meal in themselves. The rest of the meal was also fantastic. Either your confused on your whereabouts on your fateful evening, or you require 9000 calories per meal, and a bag and straw to feel complete. Pros: loved the feeling of being at a new place in vegas Cons: A little too loud more

This is promising to be THE place in Las Vegas 7/23/2008

If this is anything like New York, SUGARCANE promises to be one hot time! Just looking at the pictures, you can tell this is going ot be a unique space. I'm tired of people spilling their drinks on me. I want someplace that's just a great place to be with just enough space to make it intimate and I've heard this is it. What's even better is when I get hungry and need a late night craving satisfied, we can all go over to SUSHISAMBA which is just amazing. Pros: Promises to be THE hot club Cons: It's not open yet! more

Best sushi, hands down 7/23/2008

The fusion of Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian food is absolutely delicious. The flavors are unexpected yet delectable and the service is fast. SUSHISAMBA is THE place to be in Las Vegas and especially at The Palazzo. What's more... the cocktails are too smooth. With fresh, muddled fruit, you'll think you're drinking juice... until you get up from the table. The cocktail tree is a must have. Most of all, don't let the name fool you: there's a whole lot more than sushi. Try the robata grill. Pros: Food is A-MAZING. Melts in your mouth. Not kidding! Cons: So many selections, but service is great at helping you through more

amazing time at sushisamba this past weekend 7/22/2008

while i was in vegas for the weekend, i was told by a friend to check out the new sushisamba in vegas. well, let me tell you how glad i was to hear that it had opened! i am a huge fan of sushisamba in new york and was very excited to get a chance to eat at another sushisamba location. it just opened and man is it amazing. i have to admit i was a bit skeptical of how the evening would pan out because they just opened up days before we went BUT worry no more! we had a blast great food great service great crowd... if you are in vegas stop by you have to check it out...! Pros: great space more

Fun at the Palazzo! 7/21/2008

I went to SUSHISAMBA Vegas on Saturday night. I am a huge fan of New York and Miami Beach, but this place is over the top. The design is completely different and the food was great. We had so much fun. It's a must when visiting Vegas. Try the Nina Fresa, what a drink! Pros: Atmosphere, Vibe, See and be Scene, Great Food, Delicious Cocktails Cons: Wish it would have opened sooner... more

Not for People who like to eat!!!! Stay Away if you like good service. 7/19/2008

Eating here was one of the worst experiences of my life. First, we get there 5 minutes early for our reservation, then have to wait over an hour to be seated. We did not get our food for at least an hour after that. the Hostesses were both rude and clueless, waiter not bad. While waiting, my wife and I drank 2 drinks each, which cost us over $45, ouch.. We ordered 3 appetizers, 1 ""Large Plate"" each and 1 dessert each. Not only did we not get ""full"" we actually LEFT WITH HUNGER PAINS. By the way even the dessert tasted like fish, kinda weird. I thought they didn't wash the plate it was on. The portion size is rediculously small, wait time is absolutely outrageous. Everything is way overpriced. After spending well over $150 on dinner for 2, we ended up at the drive-thru.. Do not waste your time or money. more
