Hertz Car Sales or Rentals - Dont trust them. 11/26/2011

I am completely disappointed in Hertz, and I had previously purchased two cars from them and had many business rentals. I was scheduled to pick up a Toyota Avalon from Hertz Car Sales in St. Louis on November 12. I confirmed with Herz Car Sales home office in Oklahoma City the day before the test rental that the car was available before flying from Nashville to St. Louis. When I arrived in St. Louis I was told the car reservation had been cancelled that morning. On discussion with the local rental location, they had notified the home office that the car was not available for sale around November 1. The home office indicated that they had made a mistake, had told me it was available, and had not removed it from the website. Reasonably, I asked Hertz to refund the price of my airline ticket to fly to St. Louis and fly back because of this issue. They refused saying that they had a note that a different department had called and left a message at some point that the car was not available. My phone never showed that I received this. They would not stand behind the information provided from their home office. Because of this I will never buy or rent from Hertz again. more

My favorite hotel in STL 4/30/2010

I loved the Renaissance Grand! The rooms were gorgeous, bed was comfortable. I love the Lather brand shampoo/soap products they stock also. I was very impressed with everything in this hotel. more

Renaissance St. Louis is comfortable! 9/17/2009

I love this hotel. I used to have to travel to St. Louis and stay at the dreaded Marriott, and when this opened in 2003 or 2004, it was such a relief. more

Really not a 4 star place 3/7/2008

This place is only 4 star if you are a midwesterner that really has never had 4 and 5 star service. I stayed here for business and had booked a suite. I check in, go to the romm to find a normal room. After having to switch to the correct room, I ordered room service. The wrong meal arrived. I called down for a blanket/comforter for the pull out sofa as it was quite cold outside. After 45 minutes, none had arrived. Called a second time. A man brings a paper thin blanket! When I asked for something bigger, I am told there is none. Called the desk again. This time, I am brought up a large duvet COVER. Nothing in the cover...empty!!! I walk to the lobby. In the lobby I see the same type of duvet cover framed on the wall. At 1 am I am waiting in the lobby to speak with a manager. After having to wait 45 minutes I see a manager.\r The manager actually tells me that is the comforter and doesn't understand the difference!! I had a normal comforter on the bed in my suite so why is it so hard to just get another one. The next day I call down to have the room serviced during the day. I return at night to an uncleaned room. If you have ever stayed at a real 4 star establishment you will know the service here is 2 stars. DOn't stay here. Stay at the Clayton on the Park, or the Chase Park Plaza, both maybe 10 minutes away. Pros: location Cons: poor service more

Excellent Service & Staff 2/8/2008

Renaissance Hotel has excellent service. CPA Mary L. Knopf, Ladue, provided tremendous service to our seminar held at the Hotel. Financial Planners held the event October 28, 2007 and was a great success. Pros: Staff and service great! more

Where's the hot water? 11/5/2005

This is a beautiful hotel with a very comfortable bed. I was really pleased until I woke up in the morning and headed for the shower. Unfortunately the drizzle that came out of the spicket was cold! This does not make for a pleasant stay. Then we headed down to the breakfast buffet where we were completely ignored by the staff. I will not visit this hotel a second time. more

close to attractions 7/6/2005

This is an amazing hotel. It is only walking distance from so many attractions in the St. Louis area. And it is also less than 10 minutes from Six Flags Theme Park. They also offer a indoor pool, whirlpool, fitness room, restaurant, and Starbucks in the hotel. The rooms are well decorated and clean. They have all the regulars like many hotel rooms plus more. Some nice extras are the two-line phones, weekday newspaper delivery, voicemail, and high-speed internet access in the rooms. The Renaissance Grand Hotel is also only 15 miles from Saint Louis International Airport! more

Wonderful Service 9/30/2003

We spent 5 nights here w/our 8 week old son. The staff was very professional and attentive. Rooms were nice and comfortable, especially comfortable beds. There is a Starbuck's downstairs, which was nice. We walked to the Dome for the Ram's football game. Ate bkst once in the Capri restaurant.....the food was OK, but overpriced. Other than that, a wonderful stay. I would highly recommend. Pros: comfortable beds/room, excellent service, Starbuck's downstairs Cons: mediocre restaurant more
