Good Food. Good Service 2/1/2012

I go to Ryans every week for there trivia night and I could not have a better time. The food and service is very good the prices are above average but reasonable and the atmosphere great. The servers and bartenders are very friendly and they have always added to my experience. This is by no means a classy 5 star resturant but as far as local bars go Ryan's is very hard to beat. more

Great Service 10/29/2011

I don't know who it is that does the hiring at Ryan's, but they do a great job. It is not a fancy and fantastic place. The food is fine, fairly priced for what it is. The atmosphere is okay, but what brings me back is a decent beer menu with fair prices, and pretty attentive service. It's never too crowded and loud that you can't hold a conversation like other places in Regent Square. I don't frequent the place, but they never treated me any different from anybody else. They have far better service than most places like this. more

Sad 6/12/2011

Although I moved away 11 years ago, I am a Pittsburgher at heart. Have many, many fond memories with good friend at Ryans. Used to have great roast beef sandwiches and service was great. Visited home last year and decided to see if Ryans was still operating. My wife and I took seats at he bar and the bartender pretended not to see us and never offered to serve us drinks or lunch. After five minutes of being ignored we got the message...this a local bar and well dressed middle aged strangers are not welcome. We took good look at the local garbage sitting at the tables and bar and knew we made a mistake. Shame on all of you. more

Fun neighborhood bar! 5/14/2008

Great neighborhood bar and grill. The waitresses are friendly and timely, there is a nice selection of beer, and the food isn't bad. I'm not a fan of their pizza but the burgers are excellent! This is a fun Pittsburgh bar with a front deck that you can sit out on in the summer and spring. I love meeting friends at Ryan's. You can also reserve their deck for parties. more

Fast service, nice staff friendly atmosphere. 4/15/2008

Ryan's is a great place to go and hang our with friends the food is good, the service fast, the people are nice, and there is always something entertaining going on. Pros: Karaoke, food, dart board and plenty of Televisions. Cons: Can get crowded on Karaoke night. more

20 percent for what? 3/7/2008

I was speachless last night when I recieved my check for a mediocre dinner at Ryan's Pub and Grill on Braddock Avenue. The waitress added a 20% gratuity for some of the most ordinary bar food that I have ever ordered. The burgers were bland; the French Onion soup a mixture of cheese, croutons, and sparse on the broth, Beers were expensive. What should have been an inexpensive dinner added up to more than 70.00 - before a compulsery 20% gratuity was added on! It appears that this arrangement might be the only way for the wait staff get any tip at all after the guest chokes on the shockingly high total of the check. There are much better places out there . . . pass by Ryan's quickly! Cons: Mediocre food; high prices; gratuity added to check more

Get Soaked at Ryan's Pub 3/7/2008

I had heard of Ryans pub and was in the neighborhood so decided to try it. The food is ok, but the prices are outrageous, misleading and then you get the whopper of twenty percent automatically added to your tip. The atmosphere has a lot to be desired, especially for the price you have to pay. If you want to empty your wallet, head to a steak house. If you want to be soaked, come on in to Ryan's. The french fries were kind of soggy too. more

Roberry price, be careful 3/6/2008

Four of us went to the Ryan's pub yesterday. All ordered regular bar food (burgher etc.) Two of us had the soup. They charged 4 dollars for the soup while on the menu it said add soup for only $1.99! more
