My steak was perfect, which is why I go to a steakhouse. Service was good, as well. Good for a special event. more

very disappointed 11/14/2009

A fiend took me there for birthday luncheon-I had called 3 days ahead to check on their menu- hostess told me they had salmon and sea bass as fish entrees- I asked her to double check they had these for lunch- when we arrived no sea bass- told me they only serve this evening meals-the waiter left all the dirty dishes on the table in between servings and finally when I asked if he would please bring me a coffee cup to share my friends carafe of coffee he forgot-food was mediocre-Sean Hannity praises this place-boy is he mistaken Cons: poor service food average more

Good Steaks, BAD Ice Tea, Poor Value, Atlanta has better choices 11/12/2008

I dined at the downtown Ruth Chris steakhouse (located in an Embassy Suites Hotel) on November 10, 2008. After ordering an Ice Tea, I noted a chemical after taste. I inquired of our waiter if the Ice Tea was brewed and he advised that it was ""from a box."" I have dined in a Ruth Chris in South Florida that did not serve fake/instant tea. I was shocked to lear that rather than taking the time to brew Ice Tea, would use boxed syrup/concentrate. I think Ruth Chris founder, Ruth Fertel would turn over in her grave if she knew one of her franchisees in the South was serving ""boxed"" tea. Would Ruth Chris serve instant coffee? This Ruth Chris has a lobster tank so the lobster is fresh, if they are going to serve fake tea why not just put some frozen lobster in the microwave. If Ruth Chris can have an espresso machine to make cappuccino brewing fresh ice tea should be within their skill set. Pros: Good Steaks Cons: They do not brew their Ice Tea ... its from a box of concentrate more

Worth the wait! 11/6/2007

For years I have wanted to try the infamous Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. My experience was worth the wait. We started in the bar for a cocktail and the bartender was very welcoming and poured a generous drink. We were promptly seated at our reservation time and our waitress had excellent attention to detail. I started with the wedge salad and was pleased with the preparation. For main course, I tried the Petite Filet and Shrimp. The filet was medium, exactly how requested. The shrimp were huge Gulf Shrimp and were very fresh. I was delighted. Overall, the dining experience was excellent for food, service and atmosphere. more

Classic American Steakhouse 10/2/2007

Nice location by Centennial Park, Profesional sevice,Outdoor terrace, large portions, ask for the full wine list - and if you order by the glass check what you are brought...... expect to pay $75 + per person. Pros: Location, Service, Spacious, Super tender beef more

Just another average (and pricy) restaurant... 2/18/2007

We went here with a group of 15 people, the service was poor, and the food tasted (for the most part) like it came out of a box. EVERY person's steak had to be sent back because it was undercooked, and the scalloped potatoes tasted like those ones that you pour out of the box and just add milk. I think it took about an hour to get our food. more

Excellent Legendary New Orleans Steakhouse! Great Creole/Cajun Sides! 1/30/2007

Thank goodness, Downtown Atlanta dining is slowly, but surely making a comeback. And this outpost of the legendary Ruth Fertel's New Orleans Steakhouse, does not let us down. Located directly across from CNN Center, in the Embassy Suites Hotel, it gives all the new tourists some place to dine, rather than going all the way to Buckhead. The filets, on sizzling platters w/butter are superb. The creamed lyonnaise potatoes are terrific. New Orleans seafood is available also. Start with the extra spicy jumbo shrimp cocktail. Any steak can be prepaired with asparagus, crabcakes, and Bernaise Sauce, on top. If you can walk back to your room at the beautifully expanded Omni Hotel across the street. We are locals, and just love to go to Downtown Atlanta, for one of the top steakhouses in the country. Service and wine pairings are tops. Pros: Prime Sizzling Steaks, Drenched In Butter! Downtown Dining! Cons: Parking Can Be A Hassle, If From Out Of Town! more

Great Food, Expensive Prices 4/7/2006

Ruths Chris is a very nice place if you have expensive taste. The steaks are great and a nice size. Also the food has an ""expensive"" taste to it so if you like your food seasoned dont go. The table setting and scenery was very nice. The waiter was ""up tight"" and did not check up on us. Make sure when you go you take a lot of cash because everything is pricey. My date and I ordered the two CHEAPEST steaks, ice tea, and two sides of potatoes and the bill was almost $90. more

My husband and I visited Ruth Chris for the first time, and WOW!! We went to the d'town location and it was absolutly WONDERFUL,My steak was cook med-rare just the way I like it, and my Husbands was well done just like he like's it. The service was AWESOME and we had a great time. Our children gave us a gift card to go back because we talked about the place for a week. I think our friends got sick of us.But when they visit"" they'll see why!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK R/C WE'LL BE BACK!! Pros: Great Service, Awesome Food, Clean Restrooms Cons: Parking, long walk more

Horrible Service 6/5/2005

My boyfriend and I visited the Ruth's Chris location off of Roswell Rd on Valentines Day for dinner. Right off the bat the hostess was rude followed by the wait staff. They made us feel like we weren't worth their time with our questions about the menu. I had a HORRIBLE time there and will ABSOLUTLY never go back! I can get much friendlier service at a fast food joint! Please save your money and go elsewhere! Pros: absolutly none more

Ruths Chris 6/5/2005

Have had a couple of NY Strips that were not great, but it was made up for with other things, or another steak. Pros: good portions, good veggies, good wine Cons: needs to be spiffed u more

Best Romantic Restaurant 5/13/2005

Ruth's Chris Steakhouse is probably the best romantic restaurant I've been to. They had live jazz playing. The tables are covered with white, cotton cloths. The market price lobster and steak I had was superb! During their busy times( which is almost every other day) you have a long wait for a table. You can go to the bar and have a relaxing drink while you wait. In the end it is all worth it ! =) Pros: delicious food, great ambience, friendly servers Cons: expensive, busy, long wait for food more

Resturant Gone Bad 1/23/2005

The very first time I went to Ruth's Chris I was blown away by the atmosphere and the food. It was just fantastic, and would have recommended it to anyone looking for a special time out. The last two occassions I went I was very dissappointed in the attitude the waiters/waitresses had, and the food was just down right awful. I could have eaten better at the Waffle House. Please send this notification out to the Roswell Rd. location and have them get themselved in check with the upperscale resturant they are supposed to be!!!! more

It was just okay! 4/27/2004

My wife and I had heard all the hype about Ruth's Chris Steak House in the past. We decided to take a couple of friends with us to celebrate a birthday. I am a huge steak fan! I ordered a steak that was flavorful, but seemed to lack something. There was also something boring about the entire atmosphere. They say that the portions are made to share, but they're usually not. Everything was overrated and expensive. I usually pay upwards of 25-50 dollars for a nice weekend meal, but I expect it to be worth it. The entire dinner seemed to lack a special quality that I expected. We each ordered desert and they were all Delicious!! Good Luck with this one! Pros: deserts, service, selection Cons: , overrated, parking more

AWESOME PLACE 4/25/2004

My boyfriend took me there for our anniversary, and it was amazing. We're only college students, but they treated us just like the other big money ppl in the room. I was very surprised. Very romantic; also expensive but it's soooo worth it. I recommend this restaurant to anyone for a special occassion, or any other day if you have money to spare. Pros: great food, great service more

The Ultimate Steak 3/12/2004

The steaks were just awesome and so were the side dishes. The crayfish appetizer is unbeatable as is the chopped salad which is a meal in itself. Don't forget the apple tarte for dessert. more

For all you STEAK fans... 7/5/2002

Ruth's Chris is a must! Ever cut a steak with your fork? Here you can! Yes, it is that tender!! The meat is served just the way you want it. Only 2 issues: 1) Servce was slow, but the restaurant was crowded and 2) the service isn't great if you are a college student. I guess they think we all have a ""limited"" budget and will not tip well. Pros: Great Steak, Awesome View, Good atmosphere Cons: Slow Service more

Thank you Ruth! (and Nancy) 6/25/2002

There is no better place in Atlanta than Ruth's Chris for perfectly cooked filet. The service is impeccable and personable. You are treated with warmness and respect the minute you walk in the door. They are glad you are there and treat you as if you're in their own home! With a side of creamed spinach and Au Gratin potatoes, youre in Heaven! The Bar area is small, but has a great crowd. And for those of you heading down to any event downtown, park at the Embassy Suites (restaurant inside), have all your buddies meet you at the bar before you head across the street to the game. Also, my advice is to get to Ruth's Chris before sundown and watch the lights come on in the city as it gets dark.. Overlooking Centennial Park, its awesome! Pros: the food, the view, the wine list more
