My boyfriend and I went to Rumours for the first time on Friday night. We arrived about 8, and were unable to sit outside as it was packed. We went inside and sat at the bar, and really enjoyed the whole scene, vibe of the place. Our bartender was really nice, and helpful when asked, but wasn't overly attentive. They were fairly busy, but she should have been able to see when our wine glasses were empty when we were sitting practically in front of her. As mentioned, she was very helpful about the wine and the food menu when we did ask for her help/recommendations. The place was great none the less. We had the cheese plate, which was to die for. How great can a cheese plate be? Well, at Rumours it's fantastic, including the smoked almonds and honey for dipping the triple cream cheese. We also ordered some red pepper tapendade which was great. The Caprese salad was nothing out of the ordinary, but was still very good. The scallops over polenta which were one of the catches of the day were FANTASTIC. The bartender recommended them, and boy was she right. \r
They wine menu was extensive and broken down in a way that was easy to find what you wanted. There are a nice variety of every varietal. \r
Overall, the place was worth going back to. If you are not able to sit outside, I would recommend sitting at the bar, as you can ask more questions that way, and see the bottles, etc. They food is pretty good, and the portions are adequate. We will definitely be going back.
Pros: Really nice wine list and a good choice of light plates to go with
Cons: Not super attentive on the service, but not bad either
