Horrible Place ! 6/9/2014

Firstly I would like to say I understand the stress and frustration being a bouncer or security in a club or bar. That being said Me and my girlfriend was enjoying the LA Pride Parade on Santa Monica Blvd. we decided to head up to Sunset blvd around 5pm I ran into a store down the road while my girlfriend decided to try and get a drink for us in the bar up the road named "Roxy" Ive never been in this place but have seen it plenty As I'm walking up the road towards "Roxy" I see two grown 6 foot 3, 200 lb men carrying her by each arm out the front door. (she is 93lbs and tiny) They threw her on the ground and repeatedly punched her in the face that I witnessed I ran up there pushed the man off her and was about to fight this guy but the manager ran out and said that she was not allowed inside before 6pm even though the doors were wide open. She was crying on the ground with 2 black eyes and a cut under her eye bleeding all over the place. I called LAPD and 10 min later 2 officers arrived not looking like they wanted to deal with anything (Public Servants should care if a citizen is Crying and bleeding on the ground) they walked up to me which i was yelling at the manager that the is unacceptable. the officers separated us and questioned my girlfriend she told them that she walked up to the bar asked for a drink the bartender refused to serve her so she turned around to leave when two men (one Black man with long dreads and a skinny white guy with tattoos and piercings) picked her up and carried her out. I refused to let the cops just wave this off and asked them if this how LA works if a law abiding citizen can just be thrown down and beat up by workers in a club then its alright. ITS ASSAULT AND BATTERY. If i didn't show up when i did i don't know what they would have done to her. THIS IS DISTURBING AND DISGUSTING !! so just a FOREWARNING to anyone more

Best Venue in LA 7/18/2006

About five years ago I started hitting the music scene in LA on a frequent basis. The Roxy Theatre is by far the best music venue. You feel like you are part of the music while still being allowed the space to fully rock out! I know there are great things to come. Don't be fooled by Corporations telling you that this venue already hit its peak! Within the period of one year I have seen The Panic Channel, Brothers of a Feather aka The Black Crowes, Mickey Avalon, Foreigner, Gnarls Barkley, Snoop Dogg and Tha Dogg Pound, and Prince?! The caliber of artists that perform here go from zero to 60 in seconds. You can not miss a night! more
