I called at 9:00 this morning about a slow draining bathtub. Shawn Prunty showed up about 12:30, gave the estimate and was done by 1:00. He was courteous, polite and gave some helpful hints for keeping the drains clear.\r I have used Roto-Rooter for over 30 years and have always been satisfied with the results. more

Mr. Ali, #6491 was out to clean out our line this morning and he really was pleasant and courteous. He knew what he was doing and did a GREAT job. He wasn't here long and after reaming the line he ran that camera down the pipe to show me the entire line for me to see how clean it was, allowing me to be able to inspect the job after he had cleaned it out. He cleaned up around the area where he was working after he was done, what more could I ask for? I witnessed the pride he had in his work. Refreshing to meet someone that enjoys his work. Very prompt service. The plumber was friendly and got the job done quickly. They sent an e-mail confirmation and dispatch called that morning to confirm appointment and also called because he was only about 15 minutes behind. I was pleased with the service. Although it is expensive (but, all plumbing work seems to be expensive). more

So on 09 Jan 2015, I called the Roto-Rooter company to get a water line capped off due to the freezing of the line that had occurred earlier in the week.\r \r Before calling the company I had partially repaired the line myself, but I wanted a professional to come in and cap the line. I wanted to avoid having the incident occur again. I also wanted to have a fix in place in so that I would be able to turn my water back on to my home.\r \r The Company/ Caller Dispatch\r \r The company was able to work with my schedule and set me up an appointment for between 5:30 PM and 7:30 PM. At around 7:00 PM I called the company and asked if my plumber was still going to make it to the appointment. The looked into my request and told me that the plumber was still on another job and asked if I would like to reschedule? I said no, ( due to the fact that i had several appointments the next day outside my home)they said ok, the plumber should be at your home before 10:30 PM. I said ok, and waited for the plumber. \r \r Nearing 10:30, the company called me and let me know that, the plumber was still tied up, and wanted to know if I was still OK with them coming out. I said yes, and they said that he was be on his way after finishing his current job. At around 12:47 AM I get a call from the company saying that my plumber was now finished with the previous job, and that he would be able to come to my home now. Before I could say anything the dispatcher, then said that after reviewing the job that I had requested, they would not be able to do it due to the fact that, they normally do that type of job during the day. I said fine, lets reschedule. They gave me any appointment spot for the next morning between 8:30 and and 10:30 AM.\r \r The next morning the tech did show up on time to start the work.\r \r The fact that I had to wait over seven hours, to be told that the company could not complete my job request was very poor customer service. At any time along the course of the several conversations I had with the dispatcher he could have reviewed my request, and informed me that the plumber would be unable to do my job request because of it being night time. \r \r The Tech\r \r When the tech ( Kyle Harris # 1014) arrived, he introduced himself, and asked me to explain what the issue I was having with my water lines. I explained the issue, and he took a look at the lines and gave me a quote. He quickly got to work, on the job and even after we ran into some unexpected problems with the water lines he was able to get the job completed in a reasonable time frame. \r \r As a true professional, he was able to also answer some of the questions and concerns I had about the water pressure I have in my home. Even thou I was ready to stop using Roto-rooter as my plumbing company, Kyle's professional attitude has caused me to regain some trust in his company. more

Christmas morning found our drains completely stopped, we spent a day trying old methods without any luck. On the day after, we called Roto-Rooter and Shawn Prunty showed up within the hour. After accessing the issue and advising us of our choices, he had the drain cleared. Will definitely use Roto-Rooter again. Pat Chesapeake more

After a week of being in my new home, our kitchen sink backed up. We know nothing about plumbing companies but had heard horror stories. After some research we called Roto-Rooter that night and Shawn, the technician, was sent out the next morning. He was amazing! The service was done quickly and professionally and the price was very reasonable. Will definitely use again if any other problems arise! more

Alonzo came to our home and repaired our sewer drain for us. He was unable to arrive until later in the afternoon, but stayed and completed the job . He did excellent work and took pictures of the damaged pipe for us. He kept us informed of his progress while he was working and showed us where the problem areas were as he was working. We were quite pleased with the work done and would definitely consider calling Roto-rooter again! more

We had a main line drain issue. The rep was professional and polite. The technician, Shawn was prompt, professional, knowledgeable and worked quickly to resolve our problem. I highly recommend this business. more

I highly recommend Roto Rooter to clear a clogged drain. Our drain clogged such that water backed up in our shower and toilet in the master bath upstairs. I spent two days trying to clear the clog using a 25 ft drain snake driven by my cordless drill. I ran the snake into the shower drain, toilet and even from the roof with only a minor improvement in the draining. The next morning we requested service from Roto Rooter using the online contact form and we had a technician at our house in Hampton, VA within 3 hours. He was very knowledgeable about the plumbing used in my home and he explained where the clog was most likely to be and why my snake was not able to clear it. Within a few minutes he had the main line cleared and we were testing the drains. He was very thorough with the camera inspection of the main line and assessed a possible second clog in a side line that he also clear right away. Before he left, he came in to check the flow on all of our drains and gave us a bacterial based agent to maintain our clear drains without extra charge. more

Roto-Rooter Plumbers March 13, 2014 - This was the 2nd call to the company within 1 week. The stoppage had been previously cleared, but apparently not completely cleared due to no fault of the first plumber who came out. Andy was the one who got our 2nd call (which by the way was under the warranty from the previous week. Andy was VERY professional and extremely helpful in determining that the problem was further into the pipes then what was previously thought. Even though his co-worker initially fixed the first problem, he found a second problem that was in conjunction with the first. Our plumbing problems have now been fixed, and we are having no issues whatsoever. Andy left the bathroom looking better then what it was before he arrived. We would definitely recommend using this company. more

This is the second time I've called Roto-Rooter and, once again, I am extremely happy with the service I received. Everything was extremely professional and friendly from the initial phone call to schedule the appointment through interacting with the technician at my home. And most importantly, they fixed a very challenging drain problem much faster than I expected. I HIGHLY recommend them and will definitely call them again if I ever need a plumber. We have been using roto-rooters in Norfolk for quite some time, and the service is excellent. They come at night, on holidays, on weekends, at a reasonable price. This time plumber Shawn did an excellent job with our backed-up sewer line. He also seemed very knowledgeable and gave some very good suggestions. They not just unclog your sewer, but they also have a camera so you can look indie the pipes. The only really really bad thing about this company is their answering service. They do not know who is coming to your house and when , because they are located out of state, and they never tell you the truth. The only thing they will tell you ""plumber is on his way"". In particular, I made a service appointment at 2 am at night (yes, this is when all the toilets stopped working), and was given a time slot form 11 a.m. to 1 pm. Long story short, the truck arrived at 6 pm ( 5 hours late). In a meantime, I probably made 5 phone calls to the answering service, and they kept telling me ""plumber is coming, you're next'. I would much rather appreciate them telling me the truth ""we're backed up, we do not know when he is going to be at your house"". more
