Better than expected 1/6/2010

I have not been to Rosin for about 3 years, and after checking the address and reading recent reviews I was quite concerned. I have to say that Dr. Rosin and Ceclia were both as good as ever. Pleasant, extremely knowledgeable and professional. The staff at the front desk was additionally professional during my visit. more

My wife recently attempted to get new glasses from Rosin in Aurora. They could not get the measurements correct, so in short my wife had glasses that gave her head aches and such. She had purchased the warranty that states "" free replacement to get them right"", what a farce that was!! It would be helpful if the staff at Rosin would first read the history of the patient before spewing out ""you retina is bleeding internally.! After an exam with a specialist,She has scar tissue that is effecting the prescription. After the second time the ""TECH"" (loose term) refused to take any further measurements and asked what she wanted my wife to do? My wife asked for a refund, and of course they are not willing to not process our insurance. So, our insurance company is paying for services we did not receive. Does anyone know how to contact a corporate office for Rosin? We are prepared to go into a legal battle. After all, we struggle to work and pay bills which includes HIGH insurance premiums, now we can't use our insurance for our own benefit. Instead Rosin does not care if they have taken advantage of their customers! I can't understand that in this day and age how any business can ignore the needs of those who pat their wages. Would NOT Recommend! 2/1/2009

Not very nice to deal with. (The front desk people were the nicest of them all.) Both doctors and office folks work from the perspective of making money rather than from a patient's point of view. (When the doc handed my chart off after my eye exam, she said, ""And she'll be getting the 12 month supply of contacts."" I was dumbfounded. I had never agreed to that--nor was it even discussed. It felt like a sneaky thing to do and made me angry.) Also, if I hadn't had my insurance information with me, I would have been charged a lot of extras for getting new lenses and frames. Patients must trust their medical providers and feel that their best interests are in mind. Here, I felt very uncomfortable. I will not go back. more

Horrible personnel at the desk 2/10/2008

The personnel at the desk is very unpolite and unprofessional. The lady was sleeping at the desk and the big gentleman with glasses was very rude. He was not helpful at all and he seamed like he had a tough day and he jusyt wanted to go home. I will never go there again. more

Decent Service 12/28/2007

I have been going to Rosin's Eye Care (in Niles and Northbrook, IL for over 12 years). I have used the same eye doctor (unless he is on vacation), and have always had a positive experience at Rosin's. The employees have always been extremely helpful. The manager, on duty, is always courteous and professional. The eye doctor has been 'the best' I have ever had. The service I have received, over a 15 year period, has been decent and consistent. In all the years I have been going to Rosin's for eye examinations, contacts and glasses, I only had one negative experience (it involved a new eye doctor who had very little experience). The suburban stores have plenty of frame selection (from designer frames to non-designers). The range of prices for frames vary, and you can find fashionable eye wear that suits your needs (whatever your budget may be). Every experience has been pleasant and positive. I will continue being a Rosin's customer. The employees are outstanding and provide excellent customer service. The doctors they have on staff are extremely well qualified. Nice eye doctors, lousy management 10/30/2007

Bought a great pair of glasses and even was talked into buy the warrenty on it since I had a toddler in the house. As luck would have it, my son got a hold of my glasses and bent the stem and they would not stay on my face. I took them in and the eye glasses tech said that they were damaged and that I had a warrenty that was ALMOST ready to expire in a month so I should get a new pair ordered. Then the manager came around and ""fixed"" them by bending them back and fit them to my face. I left confused and unsatisfied. A week later, the glasses were loose again and falling of my face. I called and said that I can't keep coming there for them to keep bending them back on my face, I need a new pair and I was 8 months pregnant. The manager felt he was going the extra mile by coming to my home and bending them back to my face again. I explained that it will only become loose again and that I wanted to utilize my warrenty and get a replacement pair. He explained that my glasses will be fine now. And of course it wasn't. I couldn't get a hold of them in the next few weeks because of the birth of my child. So, now, I have a pair of glasses that have only one stem until I buy the next pair SOMEWHERE else. Possibly the worst shopping experience ever. 7/22/2007

Possibly one of the worst shopping experience ever. The shop has a very limited selection of frames and most of the frames they have are truly old and out of fashion. Anyway, last year I found a nice frame I liked and bought frame and lenses for about $600, expecting the service to match the high price. Recently I had a pair of lenses replaced on the frame I bought here one year ago and once completed the glasses had a different shape than when I brought them in. Manager was not able to explain and had the gut of telling me that this is was because everyone face is not symmetrical. Do not really understand what a face has to do with shape of lenses replaced; I should have not be so open minded and trust a manager that looks like a failed fat clown dressed up like a drag queen. Anyway, regardless of their personal furnishing style, the managers are incompetent and truly unwilling to help. They will get you on your do not bother to go there Cons: Incompetent personnel, overpriced, unwilling to help. more
