On Saturday, February 9th, 2008 I took a pair of boots in to be resoled. My concern was not for the wear of the sole, but the ""look"" of it. These boots were motorcycle boots that fit my foot well but I wanted a lug sole on them, instead of the plain, smooth sole it originally had. I PREPAID $65 after the clerk showed me the lug soles that would be put on my boots. They were a Vibram Lug Sole and EXACLTY what I wanted on my boot. I was told they were very busy so my boots would take a week. All good so far.\r

One week later, on the morning of February 16th, I received a call from the shop stating that my boots were NOT ready and they needed until Tuesday, February 19th. I said that was no problem, as I was not in a huge rush for them. Everything was still good.\r
\r
On Wednesday, February 20th, I went to the shop to pick up my boots. The boots had a different sole from the one I paid for (the Vibram Lug Sole) AND had a sole that looked very similar to the one I had replaced. When I pointed this out to the clerk he ""informed"" me that this sole they'd opted for, completely without my consent, was ""much better"" and what I ""really wanted"". When I told him that the lug sole was what I really wanted and therefore what I asked for, he insinuated that I was ""wrong about that"" and I needed to just ""give these a try."" He never gave a reasonable explanation of why they made the switch!\r
\r
So my net experience was this: I WASTED $65 and waited a week and a half to get back boots that looked no different than when I left them. Also, for my money I got the displeasure of being told that I didn't know what I wanted. \r
