SLUM LORDS- STAY AWAY 11/18/2008

I agree that the new management has been the downfall of this apartment complex. We moved here in August on the recomendation of a friend who lived here under the old management, and we have not had a good experience. There has been construction out of our back door and balcony since day 1, non-stop until present day. What is the point in a security gate if ever construction worker in Texas knows the code?! The pool is green somedays, and there is enough dog poo on the grass to fertilize King Ranch. \r \r We have also been dissapointed by false promises. When we moved in to these ""luxury"" apartments our carpet came with a brown (poo) stain and white paint blobs, our cheap-ass faux hard wood had been thrown down and is already buckling (three months later) and it took them over two months to come ""clean"" the carpet - that they promised to do the day after we moved in. Did they get the stains up- NO. Will we get our $600 in deposit money back, most likely not. \r \r Steer clear of this place. it's like eating a a restaurant that says ""Now Hiring"". No one knows what is going on around here. There is no one with experience, and they all act ticked off if you ask for anything... even if it is something they should have done BEFORE renting. I also think it is expensive for a one bedroom that comes with uninterupted construction and no parking. Well, there IS parking- if you want to pay for it. otherwise, you have to walk. What is this a dorm?!\r \r Go elsewhere. For the money we pay here, you could rent a house, and take care of it better yourself than the management here does. Pros: Location, big bath tub Cons: Size, Management, Construction, unreliable security gate more

dead grass, dirty pool, loud college parties and overpriced to boot 10/17/2008

Moved here from a quiet community. It was fine for the first two weeks then the lovely construction crews showed up. The new management decided to repaint, build covered parking, and re-roof the entire complex in two months. Even that is understandable, but why would they stop watering the grass and cleaning the pool? Dirt surrounds the complex, while the grass around the pool is littered with dog feces and cigarette butts. The first month here, I saw vermin, but they have since vacated the premisis (I guess they don't like construction either!) They said that they built residents a business center which consists of a desk with one computer and a fax machine. The ""coffee bar"" is one coffeemaker that stays on all day and the management has a two story office building that is only being used for a few employees. This would all be understandable if the rent was reasonable, it is not, its outrageous just a few miles down the street it is now (after renovations) almost half the price. They promise luxury living, but all you get is a poorly managed loud and overpriced apartment. Pros: location Cons: everything else more

Be Informed Before You Rent an Apartment at The Rosemont near Trinity University 8/4/2008

Rosemont Apartments has new ownership and the new management team is pathetic. They are doing some construction upgrades and are causing more problems than they seem to be correcting. The wonderful maintenance team is gone and has been replaced by outside contractors who have so far proven to be thieves and undependable companies who continually reset appointments week after week rather than attending to problems immediately. What was once a nice, quiet community has turned into an out of control incompetent nightmare. After recently experiencing a livingroom ceiling cave-in caused by workers leaving water running in the apartment above me, I now have mildew and mold growing on my carpets -- they came in and replaced the pad but put back down the stained and filthy carpet on top of the new pad! They keep telling me that someone is coming to clean the carpet but about a month has passed and the job is still incomplete. Looks like my sofa, leather ottoman, and expensive rug are ruined -- all smell like they are decaying. My furniture has been piled up in different rooms and the place has been a mess for weeks on end. All I get are empty promises for repair work and recently was told that they had no liability for the mess they created and ""that was what my renter's insurance was for"". They make you sign a contract that exempts them from any liability but the truth is you cannot create such a document that will stand up in a Court of Law in the State of Texas. It's a pain to have to take them to Court to make them do what is right but sometimes that's all you can do. The rent is very high, parking is a problem, and the gates are broken and stand wide open half the time. The only thing this place has going for it is location and I'm beginning to wonder if it's worth all the pain and suffering not to have to drive 5 minutes extra. Pros: Location Cons: New Ownership has brought in poor management team and pitiful maintenance more
