Editorial review from Citysearch 8/7/2013

When I first came to this school and thought it was amazing. From the start I wasn't so sure about the two in the front running it but my kids teachers were amazing and the kids loved them. Slowly I noticed most of all the good teacher were leaving and same for a lot of the students. Once my sons teacher left he went from loving school to begging me to stay home and being miserable at school. It broke my heart. Ifigured it was just a phase and just would have to get use to someone new, well that was over 3 months ago and nothing has changed. In this time half of his class had left as well and has had at least 5 different teachers. Then I started having problems with my daughter situation in summer camp. Both teachers are amazing my issue is that they have as young as 6 yr olds in with kids going to the 7th grade! I complained many times about the effect having such older kids with kids that much younger and the effects it would have and they didn't care and I've realized why. Because the older kids are the owner grand kids. After finding out about them teaching how to play spin the bottle, flipping adults off, cursing horrible, lying , cheating the list goes on and on I pulled both my kids out. Even the teachers say they do their best to discipline them but they know that they don't have to listen and are very rude and nasty if you try. Putting it simply, the owner treats the woman managing it poorly, these women treat their staff, parents and kids horribly. Ive heard them yell at the staff and the kids in a very inappropriate manner. Ive heard about Mrs. Liz which is one of the managers actually spanking a child from a teacher after leaving. The beautiful indoor playground which I loved when we first came is not aloud to be used because the kids are too noisy and it bothers the women running it. I've had family come in to pick up my kids and they never even looked up from the computer to check who they were and if they were aloud. They trash talk and tell lies about teacher who decide to leave because of the way they and the kids are mistreated. When a teacher asks for help because they have more children than they can handle and are aloud to have they do not assist in any way or send any assistance. The list goes on and on. The sad part is that this school is beautiful and has/had some really amazing staff. If they would get people to em it that actually care about the kids and not just a paycheck it really would be a wonderful place. When you walk into your child's daycare you want to be greeted with a warm smile not be ignored even after greeting them and they can't even look up to acknowledge you. more

Best Pre Schoo in Broward 5/8/2012

Room To Grow Academy was a Godsent. Wonderful caring teachers. Excellent curriculum. One of the few school that still uses common sense in educating and caring for the children that go there. Always clean and neat. Large class rooms, lots of space to run and explore.Never had an issue in the three years my child has gone there. Go in and see for yourself. Every child is different and it's just a matter of finding the one that fits your childs needs. We had to experince three horrible preschools before finding RTG.There is nothing horrible going on there, they love the kids and know what they are doing. They are GREAT!!!! I am writing on behalf of myself and a friend who have both had the opportunity to comment on this facility. We were displeased with a great deal of things we saw. Due to circumstances, my friend's child was there longer than my son, and she was relieved to be able to take him out. Pros: null Cons: null more

What you see may not be what you get! 3/9/2011

This school shows off for its parents I was a mother of a child here as well a friend to several teachers who have come and gone out of this school. This school is the wurse the make you supply materials that the owner herself locks away in her closest . That school does nothing but hoard in those empty classrooms., Several teachers told me from the past that they know for sure there were rats in the building that management announced it all the time about rats. The teachers would talk about finding rat poop in the classroom the next morning coming into work. I always wondered what that awful smell was sometimes. The children sit at the tables all day! When I would ask my son if he ever got to play in centers he would say no. and some of those toys if you look closely have dust. The owner has a loud mouth an loves to yell. The management has an excuse for everything, This is the wurst school My child has ever been in. Sometimes my child would bring food for a party and he wouldn't even get it at his party some other class would have it, And that Director wurst director I have ever met. That school does not care about family of children only about making money. I have seen so many teachers come and go from that school Good ones too! That's okay though the teachers are better off. Anyways do not be blindsided by the schools marble floors and indoor playsgrounds you will not be happy in the end. The school is terriable and your child will be unhappy more

bad bad news 2/28/2011

This is one of the worst Schools ever my child cried for a whole year and a half and now at my childs new School my child hasn?t cried once not even on the first day. They have a computer room they don?t use probably because it would waist to much energy. The children sit down all day they are lucky if they are allowed to drink water! The children are always sick the teachers let them run around with snot all over their poor little faces. Children get hurt and they can?t tell you what has happened because they apparently weren?t paying any attention! more

This is wonderful school, my son absolutely loves it! 11/10/2010

My son started in the 3 year old class and is now in the 4 year old class. He loves going to school everyday, he is very well taken care of and has learned a lot since he started. He comes home from school every day very excited about all the fun things they do and singing new songs. He has really opened up a lot since he started in Room to Grow Academy, he is a lot more outgoing and confident now, and I know that a lot of that is due to the wonderful care he is getting at this school. more

Nothing,but trouble 6/21/2010

This school has potential, but the Director Ms. Adele Epstein is horriable at managing her job she does not know how to talk to children, parents, or the teachers. The Poor teachers and their faces after management yells at them in front of their students and their fellow co workers it breaks my heart as a parent. The indoor playground is a ploy to get you in the door but my child said the teachers always told him no he was not aloud to go on there. The Ratios were always incorrect but when you mentioned them the director always had some sort of excuse. If you want your child to sit in their chair all day then this is the school for you. If you want your child to go to a loving school where they can have fun and be a kid another school would be the better choice! Pros: beautiful school Cons: terriable director, never let the children play in center more

Loving Care and Quality Education You Can See 6/4/2010

After 5 and a half months of my 3 year old twins beginning attendance at Room To Grow Academy, I am just so impressed it's hard to explain. My wife and I have had quite a journey in the Davie/ Cooper City area, looking for the best quality of care. Here, the Staff is friendly, and communicative. My children are tended to - down to being tidied up to go home, just in case we have to stop somewhere. I own my own business, so I can stop in any time I choose -- and I have. And all I ever see is exactly what I was looking for - my kids happy, learning, dancing and singing. And at the end of the day, I have to drag them outta the place. So, we are very satisfied with this school. Pros: Large facility, abundant staff, brand new equipment more

Love this school 3/23/2009

I loved this place from the moment I walked in. My son has been there for over two years and I rave about this school to my friends. My son loves his teachers and can't wait to go to school in the morning. I feel happy knowing that he is happy leaving me in the morning to go to a school that he loves. Pros: Great staff and wonderful classrooms more

Amazing facility and warm staff 3/5/2009

I have nothing but love for this school. My child has been with then from 7 months in the nursery and has received amazing care. If I have ever had any concerns they are always immediately addressed to my satisfaction. While I have seen staff come and go, they always replace them with qualified teachers. My daughter can't wait to get to school in the morning and has to be taken out crying at night. I would highly recommend this school. Pros: Great facility, Quality learning, Loving staff Cons: Teacher turnover more

Watch out 2/27/2009

I am a teacher and witnessed more than I wish to discuss. They yell often and yank kids around by the arm. The toddlers are forced to sit in a chair almost the entire day with little or nothing to do. They feed them and put them down too early. I have only seen the correct ratio of teachers to student a handful of times. I talked to a former teacher that worked there and they are even worse than I witnessed myself. They need to be closed and the owner placed in jail. more

Bad Services 11/2/2008

Their toddler room services are bad. Pick my baby up and he's still wearing the same clothes when I drop him off. No daily report or anything to inform you about your child. You have to do bodily check when you pick up your kids because they won't inform you if your kids got hurt. Pros: Thumbs down Cons: Thumbs down more
