So...I was tricked by the pretty photos in their office too. All of my other wedding vendors were amazing. We contacted Alan (the photographer, aka ""the excuse-maker"") several times about receiving my photos to no avail. I tried to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau after more than half a year went by...guess what happens if the other party does not respond to the claim made against them? IT GETS DROPPED. And guess who did not respond to the claim? Ron Carroll Photography. I had to scare them by getting $500 taken back from them from my credit card company by disputing the charge since I didn't get what I paid for...only to have RCP to get the charge reversed because I didn't complain within 60 does one know to complain when Alan tells you 'they're on my desk, I'll send them right away""? I HATE my wedding photos (which I did finally get, thrown in a box with a BROKEN wedding album a year and three months after my wedding). I HATE this company. I had to FIGHT to get what I paid for. I had to threaten. DO NOT USE THEM. Alan makes excuses for things and says that Ron Carroll is basically old and going off his rocker. If Alan is the future of the company...that company will go under REAL fast. JERKS. I tried to give 0 stars but the computer made me put at least one. ZERO STARS!!! more

Terrible photography and service - Stay away 1/25/2011

I wish I read these reviews earlier. My fiance and I signed a contract with Ron Carroll photography after reviewing some seemingly high quality sample albums from them. It was all done hill from there. After signing the contract, Ron was completely hands off and everything was done through his assistant Alan. We decided to have an engagement session scheduled. My fiance and I have not lived in Cincinnati for very long and so we asked Ron about locations. He claimed to have some really awesome locations but would not say where (to keep them hidden from other photographers) Ok whatever, but when asked again about locations, he only had one suggestion and it was nothing unique or special. We were not interested in that and he had absolutely no other ideas. After we chose a place, it was also up to me to make all the arrangements with the venue to set up the session. Ron and Alan were to just show up and shoot. Maybe it is weird of me to think that the ""professional photographer"" should have a role in setting up a ""professional shoot."" After finally setting it up, we had the session done and the entire experience was awful. They put me and my fiance in awkward, unnatural poses for nearly every single shot. We had some ideas for photos ourselves but they seemed uninterested in these and would only take one or two photos then go back to their bizarre poses. After the session was done we did not hear from them at all despite being told 3 days. We finally got a hold of them and they claimed to have sent the link to the photos to both of our emails. Neither of us had it. So they ""resent"" it and as suspected our photos were terrible. The lighting is so bad, on some you'd think we are in a cave or we are deathly ill ghosts in others. The poses are not artistic at all and even poor for portrait standards. For example, if you tell two people to look off in the distance, you should probably tell them to look at the same object! It ruins the effect of the picture to have someone looking slightly up and the other slightly down. The pictures are also littered with undesirable objects such as trash cans and even Ron's arm from him standing of to the side in some of them. We thought we might be somewhat bias so we asked friends and family to look at them too. Unanimously, only 1 out of 119 photos was simply OK. The pricing for these photos is also astronomical and you won't know that from your contract. We cancelled our contract and hopefully can find someone who can take professional photos for our wedding. So in a nutshell more

The most horrible experience you can imagine! 7/4/2010

To put it shortly, I think I do not have wedding pictures... They are so bad, that I do not even want to look at them or show them to everyone:( I am very sad. We paid a lot, and the quality is absolutely horrible. Everyone looks orange, they did not take any efforts to retouch any pictures, even though I asked. There was no customer service provided whatsoever! I had to call many many times to get someone on the phone, since they would never return my calls. And when I would talk to them there were rude, really - why to bother if I already paid up front? Finally, 1 year after the wedding (I am not kidding!) my album was ready. It's simply horrible... Do NOT ever go there! Everyone deserves better service for their money. Cons: Everything! more

Good pictures/ bad customer service 5/24/2010

I had Ron Carroll take my wedding pictures back in September and love them! I had two photographers so they captured everything! I got my CD back shortly after with the pictures on them but it took FOREVER to get changes done to my wedding album. I feel like they just threw my book together and did not spend any time on it at all. After asking them to make changes they started adding on fees. It took them 2 months to make the changes and am still not thrilled with it. I told them it was fine and to just print it because its been over a year since I got married. Now they are asking for more money and adding on more fees. I love my pictures but am not happy with the book or the lack of professionalism. Pros: Great Pictures, have back up equipment, organized and fast! Cons: Expensive more

Would Not Recommend 1/22/2010

I hired Ron Carrol and his assistant after seeing his impressive array of award wining photos in the office. Do Not be fooled, those drew me in but they are not typical. I had my engagement pictures taken and they were very bad. Both myself and my fiance looked pale, and washed out. The poses looked more like family poses rather than a couple poses. I convinced myself to order one of the pictures to use in the newspaper. After ordering them, I was never contacted again. After 3 months of waiting I began contacting them. I emailed him multiple times and called, but received nothing. Finally I got ahold of him by phone and was told that they were experiencing email difficulties. When I asked about my pictures he said he wasn't sure if they were done or not. I complained that I should have been called when they were ready and he informed me that he thought he had called me. Funny, he can't remember if the pictures were developed or not but he was sure he called me. I cancelled my contract immediately and am now looking for someone who is an actual professional rather than someone who makes excuses for not contacting their clients. There is no reason one photo should take that long to develop and there is no reason why they should have not contacted me. Cons: Poor service, low quality pictures more

Worst service all the way around! 6/12/2008

If I was showing my wedding pictures to a good friend I would be embarrassed! You end up paying thousands of dollars for ""one day"" that is supposed to be captured with an artistic eye. That was not the case in my situation. When promised that my pictures would be redone, a month goes by and they are saying that they had no record that my album was promised to be reworked. Ron Carroll himself would not even call me back when I wanted to talk to him about how unhappy I was with my pictures. Ron Carroll took the pictures himself and you can see the quality is not the same as the ones you see on display in his office and on his website. Half of the pictures are not even in focus! I cry when I look at my pictures! It has been a year and I still have not got my pictures back. I would not recommend Ron to ANYONE! If you care about quality in your pictures don't waste your money and time with Ron Carroll Photography. Pros: overpriced pictures Cons: Ron Carroll more

Horrible Photography 4/15/2008

I have never written a review before and I had hoped that my first one would be in favor of someone or something but that is not the case. Ron Carroll Photographers are the worst I have ever seen in my life. I could just cry when I think of my son's wedding pictures and how bad a lot of them were. There were two photographers at the wedding and both were bad; definitely not a good eye for background; they took way too many shots of one pose; all of the pictures were far away; both photographers were taking pictures at the same time so you would be looking at one photographer and the other one would snap a picture and when we saw the proofs it looked like everyone was looking off into la-la land because our eyes were not looking toward the camera but off to the other camera -- absolutely awful.
