Dr. Rockman "PAP" Smear 6/20/2008

Yes, you read that right, "PAP" meaning Pompous Ass Physician. I'm not even sure I would go so far as to call this man a physician. He is really more of an egomaniac. Mr. Rockman spent more time telling me what I needed, what I should do, what he KNOWS, than listening to what was really wrong. He insisted he knew what I needed when in fact, what he was prescribing for me was just making me sicker. This man is an avid pill pusher and must get a great cut off the drug companies because every time I walked out of his office, I left with at least 4 prescriptions! One visit I left with 6 !!!!! If you are looking for one of the new "boutique" doctors who specialize in "vanity" female care - then go get your lips Botoxed or your butt lipo'd by this guy. He's a male chauvinist who is far more interested in making you the "pretty little woman" he thinks you should be than he is in providing quality health care to sick women. more

Dr. Rockman is WONDERFUL!! 4/2/2007

Dr. Rockman has been my doctor for many years. He goes out of his way to put you at ease and thoroughly explains every detail of your situation. You think you are his only patient. His staff is also very friendly and helpful. I have recommended him to many women. They have grown to love and respect him also. After having problems, I had a hysterectomy in October. Since I had never had major surgery, I was scared and worried. Dr. Rockman was very caring and attentive. My surgery was a great success and I have never felt better. He is THE DOCTOR!! more

Dr Steven Rockman 10/11/2006

I have to agree with Fran. a 100%. Dr Rockman is my current OB-Gyn and unfortunatly cannot change to another due to my high risk pregnancy. I unfortunanly came into realization of his behaviour too late. I am 38 weeks into my pregnancy according to my ultrasound. but he insists on adding 3 more weeks to that due date. ive brought it to his attention and he agreend with the ultrasound on that occasion ( and was very short and rude) but by the next week he was back to his date. Im a very petite person and under great disconfort but he sitll will not budge into inducing my labor. If there is a reason why he wants me to wait he wont say. he doesnt keep me informed of anything. its what he says no matter what. sure as soon as I walk in he complements me.."hi beautiful that color looks great on you" or "your looking great as usual" compliments that im sure he has programmed in to his head and repeats over and over and over to all his patients. He is very narrow minded. he doesnt really listen to your concerns or questions before your even finished with what ur saying he is already reading off his answer to you. he is not rude in any way but he does hid his arrogance behind his soft passive tone. I cant wait to deliver my baby and never have to see him again!!! yes I know i have to see him after labor afew more times but I just cant stand him. more

Dr. Rockman is terrific! 8/18/2006

Dr. Rockman has been my doctor since 1994. He has always been caring and attentive to me. He has answered every question I have ever asked him and explained every condition he has treated me for. He compliments me and treats me like a precious person. I have even bumped into him outside of the doctor's office and he always takes the time to talk to me and even hugs me on occasion. He literally saved my life and the life of my daughter during her delivery and he is a fantastic surgeon. I dread the day he retires. It bothers me that other women have this perception of him, but I have never seen the person they describe. more

Dr Steven Rockman MD OB Gyn 5/13/2006

II saw 3 different Dr's in the Cairnway, Frostwood and Katy offices over 1- 1/2 yrs time.Dr Rockman was assigned as my primary physician. We had recently been transferred back to Katy The West Houston Ob-Gyn who delivered my son had retired/closed his practice while we were away from Houston area for less thn 1 yr.I no longer wanted to drive to the TX Medical Center. While gone I had my gallbladder removed and other female issues. Dr Rockman's manner was friendly but extremely demeaning. Every statement was started with you feel...you have... you are experiencing. My reaction was NO!!! That is NOT what I'm experiencing, feeling or thinking! How would you know? You're a man!!! I thought I had taken a step back into the 1950's South. I realized that I would never get, quality, reasonable care from a person with this narrow minded attitude. I was extremely frustrated. My Dad is older than this man and more openminded! Dr Rockman does NOT take the time to LISTEN to female patients and instead jumps to conclusions from 1 or 2 test results or circumstances at the time. He does not take the time to ASK questions and LISTEN to the answers. His mind is made up before he starts treatment. A few months later I quietly had a conversation with a neighbor of ours who had seen Dr Rockman and Dr Tal a few years before when she needed an emergency historectomy. This now 70+ yr old gracious, caring, TX southern woman said she too had switched Doctor's immediately as she was put off by the same style of sexist, demeaning treatment. (This is a person who never speaks poorly of anyone! She reinforced the idea that I made the right decision to change Doctor's immediately). more
