Editorial review from Citysearch 10/25/2012

I recently had my haircut and styled by Rianna. Best haircut of my life! I've had so many compliments and because of the good cut, styling is a snap. Just remember it is a training center so it takes a bit longer. But they charge about half the price of their other salons so it's worth it! Make an appointment and ask for Rianna. You'll be glad you did! more

Here's the deal. I've been going to Rocco Altobelli for 14 years (I've gone to a number of locations but my go-to is Woodbury). In those 14 years I have gotten beautiful and aesthetically pleasing haircuts every single time. In fact, I've had two bad hair cuts in the memorable past and they were the times that I couldn't make it to Rocco and ended up going somewhere else. more

VERY HAPPY 2/2/2012

I went to the St. Paul location and was truly happy. Tasha gave me one of the best haircuts of my life!!! I never want anyone cutting my hair ever again!!! more

really? 8/23/2011

I used to go there to get my nails done. I was in a pinch and needed to get my hair done as well so I thought ""why not I'm here anyway."" Well she colored my hair- I have black hair and she dyed in brown. I was so mad. Then they don't dry your hair they have a dryer station where you do it yourself. Like I said I had somewhere to be. So I paid for a blow out.... The whole time she talked about how I should come back for a hair cut and I just felt pressured. I went to pay for my awful color job. And was going to mention something to the receptionist about how I just wanted my roots touched up and my color was brown. But the stylist could tell I wasn't happy so she didn't leave my side while I paid for my hair. I actually left so upset I won't even go back there for my nails. more

What to do? 5/28/2010

I just found myself in a predicament..... I have always loved roccos, I have been a client for 9 years or so. I have been to a few different people and have always had good experiences. But, about two years ago I got my hair cut by Ethan and I was hooked. He suggested Andria to color my hair and she has been great, always getting the color right on. Pros: great salon, friendly people, always hospitable Cons: My stylist and colorist went missing. more

Be carefule 10/3/2008

They are very demanding and will cut your hair the way THEY think it should be, I went in growing my hair out (which takes me a long time) about to my shoulders and walked out with an asymmetrical graduated bob that I can't style or do anything with, Maybe it fits my face but I want long hair and now I will spend another 5 months growing it to what it was. Pros: Variety of employees Cons: Some employees were very unproffesional more

wont be coming back 1/16/2008

I have been going to the St. Paul school for about 2 years now and its always really been a hit-or-miss with the color techs. I have returned for re-do's often because they were either unable to match the color or cover the roots all the way. The prices are cheap but the exterior and interior is homely. Hair drying not included with the color. What really upset me about them is that they refused to give me the color formulation for my color. I have never encountered the unwillingness to do this from any other salon or stylist. While I understand that this may be considered work product, I think that from a public relations standpoint, it is not smart to deny the client from gaining access to this information. Whatever the reason for wanting it, people experiment and come and go from salon to salon. Further, if a person is contemplating switching salons, they are bound to lose them as a client regardless. This is NOT the way to retain clients! more

always more than happy 7/22/2007

I have gone to the Roseville location for about 1 year now. Ethan is the best hairstylist and I have lived all over the country and paid triple the price for the same cuts elsewhere. He is such a great talent. Beth does my color and she too is trustworthy and wonderful. Highly recommend the roseville local and the prices are very reasonable. Pros: prices, trusting stylists and colorist more

Nice Suprise 8/18/2006

This location is not the most attractive building. The staff was extremely nice, the price amazing, and the end result exactly what I wanted. I would tell anyone with a small budget this is a must Pros: Free parking, Cheap, Good staff Cons: Decor more

GREAT! 4/3/2006

Looking at the other reviews truly saddens me due to the fact everyone I know that goes to this salon loves the experience and the results! The hair stylists and other employees are very friendly and typically work with you to truly achieve what you are looking to do. I have gone to Rocco's for years and am almost always satisfied with my experience. more

Poor customer service 3/13/2006

I went to this salon for a year. I worked with an instructor. She ruined my hair. Cut it into a uneven mess. I did receive a refund for the final haircut. But was treated rudely and I thought their conduct was unprofessional and truely mean. I wore extentions for 6 months untilit grew back in. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! Pros: good colorist, price fair, location okay Cons: rude, unprofessional more

Best Cuts 1/14/2006

I love Marilyn at the Ridgedale location. She is a great and listens to what you want. She is also a blast to be around. Pros: Good Parking, Nice atmosphere Cons: Doesn't work everyday more

Be Cautious 8/21/2003

I've used the students coming out of salon school here and had mixed results - some really good and some really lousy. The advantage is - cheap price. Almost all of the students leave for other locations in a short time, so don't expect the same stylist on a permanent basis. I haven't really used the permanent staff, so I can't speak to their performance. Service at the front desk and on the phone is exceptionally good. Pros: Inexpensive, Serivce Cons: Inconsistent more

Very Suburbanish 7/14/2002

Not a trendy salon, not up to date, very retro in finish. I guess it suits the mold of the average client but I need more. I went to this place once & realized it was basically for old folks and women with kids in daycare with no jobs. more
