Robin Inn used to be better before the remodeling Pros: In a cute neighborhood and has quirky arrangement Cons: Food and service are only fair

Very Pleasantly Surprised 2/19/2011

After reading all the previous negative reviews, there's no way we would have visited, except that some friends of ours gave us a gift card as thanks for helping them move. So we figured, what the hey, at least the food will be free. more

this place is a crappy place to eat when the dad owned it it was great food but the kids do not take pride in what the dad left to them you smell the bath rooms at your table the owner talks about her personal problems in front of everyone the wait staff are rude or don't care the food is gross the pasta is over cooked the sauce has 0 taste dirt would make it taste better the food is cheap but what do you expect when you pour can sauce over noodles can spag has more taste go to joes inn that is good food the chicken taste like it's nuked the only thing that was any good was the greek salad and dressing hey thats out of the ground cheap is not always better take the customer word never will i take my family there again unless the dad got it back and we have been eating there for 20 years that is gone what a shame................get it together nikki Pros: none Cons: waitstaff owner cooks and restrooms everything more

Not so great. 10/27/2009

This place has always left much to be desired. It seems that some people love it, but it's honestly not Italian food. Nothing is made to order here, and I don't expect pasta to be made fresh, but this stuff tastes like it has been used for days. I have had better sauce from a jar and the pasta is always really, really overcooked. They either heat the dishes in the microwave or stick them under a broiler where cheese usually comes out burnt or stuck to the plate. more

worst food ever 1/22/2009

Umm..i dont even know where to start. i'm pretty sure my waiter was high on rock, i could hear loud yelling and cussing coming from the kitchen (great environment for the kids), the owner...wow....i have no idea how she acquired that place because she seems to have no business sense whatsoever, talking very loudly and constantly about her personal problems for the whole restaraunt to hear. and the food was terrible. I got the shrimp alfredo, i swear it was microwaved shrimp..and pasta..and cheese. actually there was still ceran wrap stuck to my plate when i got it. No wonder the majority of the clientelle were old people with no tastebuds, or broke college kids. i bet the students had never been there before...if they really wanted to save money, ramen noodles would be a much tastier choice. i would rather eat my own feces than go there again. more

Delicious homemade Italian food! 1/4/2009

My family and I go here about twice a month. They are very accomodating to our 9 month old and we have gone with our baby and our 2 year old and 1 year old niece and nephew and they haven't even batted an eye. The food is delicious, although once in a while something isn't quite as good. However, the majority of the time, that doesn't happen! I recommend the manicotti and the eggplant parmesan. The price is very reasonable. more

Quick and tasty! 10/31/2008

The food and service are always good. The atmosphere is is that of an old midtown restaurant; the owner Niki P. has improved the lighting, tables and most of all renovated rest rooms. Most of the cuisine is good but IMHO, stick to the baked spaghetti with meat sauce. Portions are very large; always a little left over for lunch. Pros: Fast service; usually. Cons: Booths not good for large people, but tables upstairs will accomodate. more

"wow so much food" does not make it good food 9/18/2008

The only people that would think Robin Inn was any good must be related to the owner or looking to continue the paid "Robin Inn" advertising in their paper. I think it would be a good idea to actually eat at the establishments you write about. The chicken Parmesan there is a boiled chicken breast and out of the can tomato sauce over cooked squishy pasta that taste like it has been sitting in warm water for a few hours. When the dish came to the table I asked what it was she told me "chicken Parmesan" I replied, "where is the Parmesan?" She then reached across the table and grabbed the shaker of the fake cheese you find at any pizza place and placed it down in front of me. Anyone with any food experience or someone that has ever eaten chicken Parmesan knows that it is chicken rolled with breadcrumbs and? you guessed it Parmesan cheese then cooked. This place is for the old people in the Fan that need soft serve food without all that crazy young kids stuff called ?flavor?. Corporate food from Sabarro?s at shopping malls is closer to Italian, which is still not saying much. Pros: none Cons: all of it more

One Star is too many!!! 8/1/2007

One Star is too many!!! This restaurant is awful!! The eggplant parmesan was fried in dirty fishy oil - so fishy you could smell it coming, the bread was stale, and the salad was limp. The staff was so rude my husband felt he couldn't send his food back when it was made wrong, he was worried they would do something to it. We generally like hole-in-the-wall restaurants and this one came highly reccomended. Big disappointment. Avoid this dirty hole! more

Wonderful Rowhouse & Service, Decent Food 4/6/2007

Let me start off by saying yes, by all means do I recommend this place. They have a $30 dollar dinner special that includes 2 full meals and a bottle of wine. As a student date restaurant you can not beat it. However, as expected, the food was not much better than what I could whip up with a jar of Prego and a microwave. The service was nice and very accommodating. If you are looking for fine dining, stay away. If you are looking for somewhere cheap to bring your friends, come to this old rowhouse. Pros: Unbelievable prices, Service, Value Cons: Food not incredible more

Excellent Value, Great Tasting Italian Food! 8/20/2006

Robin Inn is a very cozy, older, but well established Italian restaurant in the downtown area. When walking in, you will need to locate your own seat - which isn't usually too difficult to find. They have a couple large rooms that can easily accomodate large parties. Pros: Niki's Homemade Italian Vinaigrette, Great Food and Wonderful Value. Food comes fast! Cons: Older building, tight boothes, might be best for adults instead of kids. more
