AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL!! 12/9/2009

Poor management 11/18/2008

In short, I have gone through Katie, Sabina, and Zaha at this salon...I received great customer service and cuts or color from each but when I call back, they do not work for the salon any more. Ridiculous. What in the world is going on in this higher management and leadership that they cannot retain stylists for such a fancy shamnzy salon that claims this culture of Robert Jeffrey. I am sick of chair hopping and them calling me to come back and offer my discounts to come back to Charlie. Not to knock him, he has great review, I am not sure which of the males he is in the salon but forget it. I am on their mailing list and they offer so many discounts which could be great but who knows if that stylist will be there again. Besides, all of the emails have so many grammatical errors in them that they sound so unprofessional and as if they are desperate for business. I will take my business elsewhere and find me a stylist who will stay where she is! Pros: open 7 days Cons: stylist retention, desperate for business more

robert jeffery? or JESUS? 10/7/2008

Charlie, the owner of the salon, is hands down a miracle worker. I also experienced the same thing with Davey. I had MAROON hair!! So i bleached it, by myself and it ended up looking something like one of those 80's tie-dye shirts people have hidden in the back of their dresser drawers. So 8 months later i went to Robert Jeffery Hair Studio. I walked in and right away made an instant connection with Charlie. His welcoming personality made the whole 6 and a half hours a breeze. It started out with him telling me 10 inches of my hair was dead and i was ready to cut it all off. With ten inches of my hair on the floor he took me over the the sink to do the color correction two times, deep conditioning twice, two all over colors, and a color evener. Davey was the one to do most of the color correcting and dying which i applaud his patience for :-). so when that was all said and done. I went back over to Charlie's chair so he can finish the cut and style it. The finished product was AMAZING. I'm a completely new person, my hair is healthier than its ever been in my life and i feel GREAT. I feel like the weight off my shoulders has lifted (literally and figuratively.) So if anyone has a crises or if you just want a really good cut and color GO TO ROBERT JEFFERY!! i guarantee you wont regret it! Pros: customer service, Welcoming staff, awesome results!! Cons: None!! more

Miracles workers!!! 9/29/2008

Friday afternoon my mother had a horrible job done at another salon in the area (Image show case) where they bleached her hair 3 times, turned her hair yellow (literally) and burned her scalp badly. I suggested we go to Robert Jeffreys because I have been there before and I LOVE LOVE LOVE their service. She was an emotional wreck when we got there and they quickly gave her water to calm her down and Charlie (owner) Rosa and about 2 other people quickly went over our options to save her hair. They were so amazing and worked fast. The products and knowledge are so amazing my mother will forever go back to back there. They were really angels to my mom that day since she's been getting her hair done in different places for over 40 years!!! Pros: Atmosphere, Friendliness, Quick, Knowledgable Cons: Parking? more

Zaha 9/17/2008

We read the review concerning zaha departure. We are also sad to see her leave...Zaha really wanted to focus on her education in the Marketing field and we respect and support her on her goals, as we do with all our stylist. As much as we would have loved to keep her at a part time postion, our salon is new and we need stylist that are dedicated to the craft and places thier skills and education within the field priority. As soon as we find out where zaha maybe working part time, we will pass on the information. We do have some talented sylist who can accommidate any clients that would like to return. Thank you and have a great hair day and we wish the best of luck to Zaha!!!!! Pros: Fun and highly talented staff more

Dissapointed 9/11/2008

I got a haircut by Zaharoula (that is the name on her card, she has a nickname too) when the salon first opened. My hair was in a bob and I was sick of it and instead of telling me to grow it out, she suggested a cute new crop and even showed me a few pictures saying it would go great with my face shape..i loved it!. I went back to her about 5 weeks later to get a trim and the cut was just as consistent as the first. I hate going back to someone and getting a completely different haircut when I just wanted a trim, she did great. more

The Amazing Zaha 9/2/2008

If you're in need of an adorable do, book an appointment with Zaha the Ztupendous Ztylist. This gal knows how to work them zhears! I walked in looking busted and walked out looking bodacious. She's was very friendly too--a perfect combination of great skills and great personality. Even her ""clean-up"" cuts are spectacular. What are you waiting for? Book, book, book! Pros: Zaharoula more

Great and affordable stylings @ Robert Jeffrey 8/6/2008

I have been seeing Parki for a few years now and won't see anyone else in all of Chicago for my hair cuts, color, and styling. I have followed her to this new swanky salon from another near Damen and Rosco. She was by far their best stylist and she's found herself a happy new (job) home here among these very friendly folks. Not at all pretentious like some other salons in town. Pros: everything! Cons: parking is first come and metered, may prove difficult at busy times more

trendy salon without the trendy price! 7/24/2008

First off, let me tell you that I paid $155 w/out tip and got a highlight, cut, toner and an amazing hair treatment from a stylist named Zaha. Her consultation was so thorough and she asked me questions that no one has asked me before which is why I am convinced my hair turned out so great. I work in the gold coast as an attorney and I am used to paying 150 bucks just for highlights and leaving sopping wet so this was fabulous. The salon is absolutely beautiful in its black and silver decor and they have a great patio to enjoy if you are early or if your color is processing. Zaha did a great job on my hair and I booked my next appointment and she told me that I would save 10% for prebooking, how great is that?! Pros: no one is snobby, talented staff and up to date with trends Cons: warm water, parking and no tips on credit cards. more

Best salon in Andersonville 7/22/2008

Ok so first off i never write reviews but i feel this place warrants one. A friend of mine mentioned the robert jeffrey salon in Lakeview but i decided to try this one instead on a random whim. The receptionists seemed really polite and made me feel completely at ease. They made me a appointment with a stylist called Parkey (sorry if i spelled that wrong) I walked in expecting a simple cut and possibly a high light. Parkey absolutely made my hair stunning with a superb cut and a full high light. The atmosphere in the salon was great I am so glad i found a place like this!!! All the stylist complimented my hair and the owner Charlie introduced himself to me making me feel completely at home. I highly recommend this salon to anyone. Great place great vibe. The only thing that good make this place any better is a martini bar more

Awsome salon 7/18/2008

when i first walked in, i was greeted imeadiately with a smile. The staff was friendly and attentive to me ,plus my stylist Rosa was wonderfull. She has lots of training and listens to what my dislikes were and found a great hairstyle for me that was easy for me to recreate.Plus she showed me step by step on how to do it and what products to use and how to use them. I love this pace and my stylist.Ill defenetly be back. Cons: can't put tip on cards more

The place to go if you want your hair to look great. 7/12/2008

I walked into Robert Jeffrey's salon in Andersonville this morning to get my hair cut. First off, the place looked amazing. The atmosphere makes you feel exclusive but still part of a family. When you first walk in, you are greeted by someone who is ready to help you out and get you where you need to go. Second, the stylist's all have this fun and excited attitude. They want to get to know you, not as a client but as a friend. They are all about listening so that you have your perfect haircut. more

Sassy sarah 7/8/2008

We apologize for the loss of a few of our good friends and stylists. We miss them very much; unfortunately, they left for good reasons. The three mentioned, are always welcome back. These stylists left us some time ago and we are surprised there is a review about this so late after the fact. Pros: Great location, great staff Cons: None so far more

Best layers 7/7/2008

I had a haircut by Adam and it was great. He is talented and does a great job listening to his client's needs and also expressing his opinion. I would highly recommend Adam. Pros: Great hair products Cons: Located far from downtown more

Highly Recommended! Especially for Naturally Curly Hair! 7/3/2008

I've been getting my hair cut by Charlie Bonanno, a partner in this new Andersonville location, for over three years and I've loved every cut. I've got naturally curly hair and over the years Charlie has been able to give me lots of fun cuts, highlights and colors. Even though I've moved from LakeView to the South Loop and Charlie has moved from the RJ location on Halsted to this one in Andersonville, getting a great haircut is worth the extra commute. This new location is funky yet comfortable, contemporary yet casual and the staff is professional but very friendly. Cuts aren't outrageously expensive (around $55 for a woman's cut) and new customers get a 20% discount on their first appointment. more

I love zaharoula and my high lights! 7/2/2008

I have been to the robert jeffrey in lakeview but it was too far from my house so i was thrilled when they opened this location! Pros: great decor. patio! Cons: parking and no tip on credit cards more
