I've been going to Luna since I was a baby. Quite literally -- it's one of those horrible stories my parents tell. At any rate, Luna is one of the last old-fashioned Italian restaurants in Little Italy, which means, among other things, no waiters outside hawking their specials. The food is solid, Italian home-cooking, and in fact very little of being here is a true restaurant experience. The waiters yell, little old ladies wash dishes in the kitchen and everyone is both friendly and surlier than you expect. All of this said, people still line up for it.
I love the place, but am hesitant to recommend it to the unadventurous -- but if you want a non-touristy experience in LIttle Italy this is the place to go. Be sure to order their spectacular garlic bread and be prepared to wait on line.
