Great cut and color -- highly recommend 12/29/2012

I have been going to Ripples since 1991 when I worked in Cambridge. I now live in Sudbury and still make the 30-minute drive to Arlington every 7 weeks. I have seen several stylists and colorists over the years, and currently see Jody. Jody listens, makes recommendations about styles and colors ... and I've always been happy with the results. They've done a consistently good job with my color, highlights and foils over the years, too! more

I love Ripples 11/17/2011

I have been going to Ripples since about 1986. I lived nearby so it was a short walk. No matter how far away I move, I always drive to Arlington for my "every six weeks cut color and brows". Amy is my favorite - she does a fabulous job - but all the ladies there are very good at their jobs. I've tried a few places over the years to try to avoid the drive - but I always go back. I am never happy anywhere else. more

Great Place 9/3/2010

I started going to Ripples when I moved back to Arlington 15 years ago. The owner was a lovely man who won may competitions for his cutting edge coloring techniques. He hired the best stylist and colorist he could find. Every time I go in I feel like I am with my family, everyone is sweet and pleasant to be round. The owner’s daughter run the salon now and is very knowledgeable of the products she sells. There is never any high pressure to buy their products. My stylist Peg is awesome, I get so many compliments on my hair and people ask me where I go. I have a lot of friends who now go to Ripples. I guess I am a walking billboard for the salon. more

Great place for cut and color 9/24/2008

I have been going to ripples since i was three years old and i get compliments on my haircuts and highlights all the time. everyone there is very friendly, sweet and great at their job. I especially recommend Jodie more

Great Salon 2/14/2007

Hi, I've been going to Ripples for about 2 years and i wont go anywhere else. Amy, is my stylist and she is great, the prices are a higher then Greatcuts but the saying "you get what you pay for" cannot be more true when it comes to hair. more

Want Color that Rivals the Best New York Salons 8/22/2006

Run don't walk to Ripples in Arlington and ask for Amy ...not only is she one of the best colorists around...she is warm, friendly and most important she listens to what you want....My hair has never been more beautiful...and I've been to the best salons that New York has to offer..... The shop is total perfection...great staff, great cuts....great atmosphere.... more

Ripples = RIP OFF 8/3/2006

New to the Arlington area, and looking for a new hairdresser, I was also intrigued by the store's outside appearance. What I was unprepared for was the unprofessional treatment I got and a color and cut that resulted in Zebra Stripes, never mind the sticker shock at the register when it came time to pay. When I returned the following day to ask for a correction, I was treated with a curt attitude and was greeted with a roll of eyes by the stylist who had performed her highly overpriced botch job on my poor unsuspecting hair the previous day. Lotsa buck for no Bang. For friendly, professional service, with prices backed up by talent, find another Salon. more

Best haircuts and coloring at reasonable prices 7/5/2006

I have been going to Ripples for many years and find it to be staffed by professional hair experts who will listen to what you want. Colorists are top notch. Products sold come with expert advice but are not pushed on customers. more

If you're looking for a great haircut, go elsewhere 8/18/2005

From the outside, Ripples appears appealing. Its large front windows let passers by gaze into an array of hair care products, large black leather couches, a seemingly endless supply of the latest fashion magazines and numerous stylists providing Arlington residents (mostly women) with the latest in European hairstyles. What you cannot see from the street is the unpleasant staff and high prices. The select staff this review has dealt with have been unwilling to listen to concerns and wants and needs. They were more interested in selling a $200 hairdryer than accommodating a haircut that was easy to style and took minimal time. more
