Best

I live in Vero Beach, Florida and was visiting my adult children in LA. We went to Batali's Monza restaurant, overrated, Keller's Bouchon in Beverly Hills, superb, and the new LA ...

My mother was here from England and an uncle wanted to take her to the Getty for fine dining!!! We had been to dozens of restaurants in LA and SF but as my mother had never been ...

fantastic location and museum 8/25/2005

The Getty is conveniently located off the 405 close to Santa Monica. After you park, there is a free tram that takes you up a steep hill into the grounds. There are several different buildings which house the artwork, and each is spectacularly beautifully decorated and designed. The outdoor park type of area they set up by making structures out of plants is very beautiful. Very perfect for an outdoor picnic. If you would like to save money, bring your own food. Also, admission is free. A very lovely place to spend the whole day. more

Getty museum 8/21/2005

If you are interested in some world famous master pieces, Getty museum is the best place to go. The admission fee is free and parking fee is 5 dollars per car. I went there in an afternoon, but I don’t’ think the time is enough, however, we found that it has a nice city night view. The garden is designed by a contemporary artist and even the plants were architect into certain way. more

Best Museum Bargain 8/18/2005

The Getty Center is located on a hillside and is the most scenic and beautiful museum I have ever been to. The price is right with admission being free and parking costing just $7. The museum houses lots of art, paintings, sculptures, and antiques from all over the world in several buildings. It can take the better part of day to see everything. If you like, you can go sit on the patio, have something to eat, and watch the sunset. It is a great place to learn and relax. more

Fabulous and Free 8/16/2005

The Getty Center is one of my favorite places in LA. It’s vast collection of arts and antiques are free to the public. A tram up the hills in Brentwood take you to the museum, which includes five buildings filled with artwork and an outdoor garden. The history of the museum and its patron, J. Paul Getty, is as interesting as any exhibit. more

The Getty Center 8/5/2005

The Getty Center should be a regular stop for locals as well as tourists. Perched at the top of a hill with views from the ocean to downtown this is a gem in LA. Give yourself plenty of time to explore the various galleries as well as the amazing gardens that change with the seasons. There are several restaurants to choose from. Be sure to look into the performances that they offer (free) on weekends. more
